I was surprised it didn't bother me at all. I only trained the yoke up to 350# a week before the contest and at the contest, I didn't feel any pain at all. I went in feeling horrible and had a great day, go figure

Solid work. Glad to hear it was pain free.

Lower back started to tighten a bit but at my age, that's normal and it didn't affect me during the day at all.
I get that during powerlifting meets. Too much standing and messing around is my issue.

Quote:
2nd event was axle clean then press for reps, only 180#. I was only planning on a few which is what I got, 3 reps. Still happy with that because my overhead strength is coming back, slowly but its on its way.
Excellent.

Quote:
10 seconds left I knocked out 2 more than added another at the 3 second mark. One guy called me a smart a$$ for getting that last rep I ended up 2nd in this event and it moved me up to 4th.
Well done. The power of the pull.

Quote:
4th event was 210# farmers for 80' then a 210# keg back the other way for 80'. Moving events are usually my achilles heel but today I had some decent speed. I ended uo 3rd in this event at about 24 seconds.
Hopefully No longer your achilles heel.

Quote:
I still ended up 3rd and had one of my best contests in a long time.
Congratulations. Sounds like you had a great time and make some solid improvements.

Fighting an injury. After my June contest (I kicked ass in it), my left hip flexor cramped up so bad I couldn't walk for a few hours. Since then, it pulls on my hip making walking constantly painful and lifting impossible. Had a cortisone shot which did nothing, got an anti inflammatory that worked great but killed my stomach and had xrays. I'm going in for an MRI soon
