11/02/2009: Chest and Triceps

Workout Time: 46 minutes

Workout Grade: A

Occasionally, a workout is like a religious experience. Today was just such a workout. I had all the cards against me...I developed a wicked sinus headache about 1:30, my blood pressure seemed a bit high, and my blood sugar was low.

But when I got under the bar, I felt like Superman. The weight was unusually light. I'm not sure if fate intervened, or if last weeks heavy rep-fest really jolted me forward. Either way, I was just about throwing the bar towards the roof.

My arms were completely engorged halfway through incline presses. I lost a bit of steam, but still finished strong enough to be very pleased with my effort.

Screams. Woo hoos. Yelling. All part of the fun today. Man, how I love training alone in the dungeon. Just me and the spiders and the cracked bricks and ear splitting music.

Those of you that don't live for progression, I honestly don't know how you keep your training sanity.

Bench Press

Thanks guys. It's always nice to lift without my wife down in the dungeon joining me. I love her and all, but half the time I allow her to play "her music" which is 70's or country...and I just can't deal with that while working out.
