Pretty good bench press session. Lots of heavy weight is good for the mind.

For me, it's not cake, it's Chinese food. Always cheers me up.

Notes:
Slight rant...I hate my f'ing back. Yes, I hurt it again. Long story short; My back does NOT like to pull from the floor, period! I don't even know why I continue to try it, it's not like I'm a powerlifter and NEED a big deadlift. But I am stubborn and keep trying and keep getting hurt. Then I can't even work my beloved squats hard. I just need to swear off the deads and be happy that I can squat, it's a better exercise anyways (my opinion). So training is a little goofy right now as I freaked out and started back with 5/3/1 (comfortable and familiar). We'll see what happens...

I know it won't make you feel any better but I do similar things. RDLs kill my hips yet I forget that every now and then and do them anyway. For years I would do heavy benches even though they were the bringer of pain.

Perhaps you need to drop the deadlift completely and do a "no deadlift" deadlift program.

High pulls bothering you too, or just everything in totality?

It was actually the High Pulls that did it to me. I didn't even get to the deadlifts. I can pull from pins or blocks, but anything from the floor just gets me. Even a 2" block can save me from pain.

Sorry to hear about the back OR, maybe just doing rack pulls is the best thing for you. You know whats best, just listen to your body.

Bummer about the back OR. Hope you heal up soon, and it does sound like rack pulls might be the ideal thing for you now.

Sorry to hear about the back OR. Hope you can work out something where you can still do some pulling.
