It will take a few weeks to adapt. Don't get frustrated on those 20 reppers. Keep focusing on progression as opposed to performance. 20 reppers are brutal and I never get 20 reps the first time.

Yep, Steve taught me recently about the importance of priming that CNS with smaller jumps as you approach your working sets. Tested it out and worked like a charm. I also like doing some very light squats or Goblet Squats to warm up for deads - not that you need more squats in that routine, but hey, the more the merrier right?

I'm not surprised either that the 20 repper did not compute, after all the deads and 3 sets of triples. Just go for 1 or 2 more reps next time.

I have also started doing proper warmups, and it have made a noticable difference in my compound lifts....
