06/07/12 - Bench II

RSling Bench
40kg x 7, 60kg x 3, 80kg x 3, 100kg x 3

112.5kg x 3 @8
112.5kg x 3 @8
115kg x 3 @8
117.5kg x 3 @8
117.5kg x 3 @8
120kg x 3 @9 PB

2brd Bench
80kg x 3 @7

100kg x 3 @8
100kg x 3 @8
100kg x 3 @8
102.5kg x 3 @8
105kg x 3 @8
105kg x 3 @8 default PB

Close Grip 3brd
80kg x 8 x 2
85kg x 8 x 2

Inverted Rows
BW x 11,10,10,10,10

Awesome session. Knew I was pretty done on RSling bench but took the 120 for a nice rounded PB, probably a 10kg+ PB too with some in the tank.

Took a few sets to get into the 2 boards, had more in me but time was ticking.

I love bench sessions at the minute, my form is really getting there, when the volume drops off and the intensity increases I am going to smash PB's.

Nice to pop into a log and see some destruction like this. Way to kill it JT. Keep it rolling.

Thanks BtB, dead and bench are going strong, squat will follow soon.

Forgot to note, moved bench grip out just a little and it felt good, I've always used quite a narrow grip anyway. Will see how it feels without the sling or boards tomorrow.

Didn't have time to get anything extra in over the weekend, going to take some time to get my hips loose before squatting this afternoon. Not sure whether to give oly shoes another run or just stick with the flat soles, I'll have a play around...again.

09/07/12 - Squat & Deadlift

Squat w/Belt
60kg x 5 x 2, 80kg x 3 x 2, 100kg x 2 x 2, 120kg x 4 x 2

130kg x 4 @8
135kg x 4 @8
135kg x 4 @8
140kg x 4 @8.5
140kg x 4 @8.5

100kg x 2 (change shoes)

140kg x 4 @8.5

14" Deadlift
60kg x 3, 100kg x 4, 140kg x 4

160kg x 4 @8
165kg x 4 @8
165kg x 4 @8
165kg x 4 @8
165kg x 4 @8.5

Still not feeling it with squats, happy with bar position but they still feel off. It might be in my head but will just keep plugging away. A couple months ago 140 felt light on my back and flew up but its felt like a ton recently. From now on, wrestling boots for all main squat movements. Little toe really got to me today and hips & calves felt way too tight.

After an hour of squatting and pissing about I was dead but the pulls were still half decent although I fatigued pretty fast.

Maybe, maybe not. I was in a funk for a long time in 2010. Heavy singles cured this for me. The rep work was a grind, but that heavy single started to make the grind work feel lighter.

Form looks good on squats.

Ye its mainly the rep work I'm struggling with. My legs certainly know they squatted yesterday. Singles will be coming in the next few weeks, thankfully.

10/07/12 - Bench I

2ct Paused Bench
90kg x 4 @8
92.5kg x 4 @8
95kg x 4 @8
95kg x 4 @8
95kg x 4 @8
95kg x 4 @8

Medium Grip Bench
95kg x 4 @8
95kg x 4 @8
97.5kg x 4 @8.5
97.5kg x 4 @8
97.5kg x 4 @8
97.5kg x 4 @9

BTNP
45kg x 8 x 3
42.5kg x 8 x 2

Band Ass. Chins (BTNP Superset)
Blue x 9,9,8,8

DB Row
41kg x 20

Was a bit of a struggle to setup today with some lower back fatigue and some sets were crappy from poor setups but still some decent work.

Had more in the DB rows but left it there, upper back was feeling good.

Bench roll is still going and my upper body is feeling a lot bigger over the last few months. I actually have some peculiar lumps that resemble traps and triceps .

Good place to have lumps growing.
