Nice jump. 160 and 170 looked easy. Thought 180 had you buried. Nice recovery!

+30kg on last total, not all lifts were to competition standards but I'll take it.
Sloppy always improves. Congrats on that bump. Good sign that you're making progress like this.

Thanks LtL. Longest rep of my life but well worth it for 4pps!

Thanks BtB. Didn't expect to hit 180kg but the warm-ups felt good and raised the opener, it was a fight but I got it. Next step, a clean 4pps and an ugly 200kg.

Thanks Faz.

Upper back was destroyed from Mondays session but that was about it. Lightish triples today for bench and squat this afternoon.

Looking at the squats, I have no problem getting out of the hole but more of a problem midlift with my torso dropping forward. I think it would be wise to change my main squat variation from paused squats to goodmornings. Never gone heavy with GM's but I'll see what happens.

Last 2 weeks I've been running backloading pretty much as prescribed. Start the day with whey and some double cream and then a big dinner of chicken, bacon, brocolli & eggs and then train mid afternoon followed by dextrose and plenty of carbs for the night. Not sure where weight's at but I'm not bothered, things are working well right now so I'm not going to change a great deal.

Backloading sounds good. I will be back on it when I start work again.

Have a good one this afternoon.

Nice work with that meet man, and awesome grind on that 180 squat - it almost buried you! Try and make sure you're nice and tight on the bar so you're as solid as a rock and confident to smash it.

22/06/12 - Mock Meet #2

Squat
60kg x 5, 80kg x 2, 100kg x 2, 125kg x 2, 145kg x 1

165kg x 1 @9.5 (Felt Off)
180kg x 1 @9.5
185kg x 1 @9.5 +5kg PB

Bench
40kg x 4, 60kg x 3, 80kg x 1, 95kg x 1 @8

105kg x 1 @8.5
115kg x 1 @9.5
117.5kg x 1 @9.5 (Pauses were crap)

Deadlift
60kg x 3, 100kg x 2, 130kg x 1, 160kg x 1 @7

190kg x 1 @9
215kg x F
215kg x 1 @10 +5kg PB (Poor lockout but I'm taking it)

517.5kg total +12.5kg PB from Monday

First squat felt off but knew what I needed to change and it worked. Actually thought I had a little left on the last attempt.

Bench, my eccentrics have slowed down a lot tried to speed the last one up. Pauses didn't happen but that's something I'm working on.

Different approach with deads today, wanted a PB and took bigger jumps to save myself, not so sure on that. Forgot to roll shorts up so lockouts were tough and grip failed on second attempt. I'm taking the third lift, it was close enough for me, just needed to pop the hips a little more but grip was wearing thin.

Not a bad week.
