It's becoming apparent that feeling 100% seems to be a state of mind for all of us. I've lost count of the number of times I've not slept well, not ate well or even got physically sick prior to a session only to kill it.

Benching looks good. I'd be screwed without leg drive personally It just means your bench will improve a lot when you master it.

22/03/12 - Bench 8x4/Deadlift 5/3/1

Bench
40kg x 5
55kg x 5
70kg x 5

85kg x 4 x 8

Deadlift
60kg x 5
100kg x 5

127.5kg x 5
145kg x 3
162.5kg x 3

170kg x 1 x 3

Sidebends/Banded Abs
25kg/Small x 15/30, 15/25, 15/30

Strong session, everything felt pretty easy, want more speed on deads but can't have everything at once. Really happy with bench set-up today, wrist is playing up but only on the unracks, setting up higher on the bench helps as I don't have to drag the bar as far.

Bench looked better. Next thing is to try to fill your belly with air and push it up to the bar. This will keep you tight and decrease your ROM.

Cheers LtL, noted in the book. Decreased ROM = WIN!

^ Good advice.

This really helps me during eccentrics to stay tight. Men have a tendency to suck in their guts, especially at the gym. Let that sucker expand.

Keep killing it JT.

Thanks BtB. Ye I used to be guilty of sucking my belly in constantly but since I learned to breath properly I let the belly hang free. It doesn't seem to be second nature with bench though, will work on that.

Been looking for a chance to compete towards the end of the year, only opportunity so far seems to be the 2012 British Universities, Colleges and Schools Championships mid November. It couldn't really be much further away to get there though. I'll see closer to the time, there might be some Northern events posted. Need to increase my total somewhat first anyway.

How far is it? Close in the states is often far in the UK.
