I couldn't handle anything today, hips were throbbing after the yoke so chucked the tyre around for some fun and beat my training partner by 2 secs.

Thinking about competing in a novice comp a couple of days after my last exam. I can nail all of the events listed so could be a decent day, only problem is I probably won't get a chance to train events between now and then. Will see what happens though.

Time for cake before the gruesomeness of squatting tomorrow.
Go for the comp!! Great fun!

Strong looking training mate, keep it up!

Cheers swede. If all goes to plan I'll be in it.

08/04/13 - #29 W2D1

Squat All w/belt
100kg x 5
120kg x 4 x 2
140kg x 3 x 2
160kg x 2 x 5

Bench Narrow grip
67.5kg x 5
80kg x 4
95kg x 2 x 2
107.5kg x 3 x 5

Fly/Pushup
8kg's/BW+20kg x 10/10 x 2
8kg's/BW x 10/10 x 3

Front Squat
90kg x 3 x 2
100kg x 3 x 2
120kg x 2 x 4

RDL Switch from GM's
60kg x 5 x 5

Tough day, knew it would be the second I put the yoke down yesterday. The loaded carries have been destroying my hips which makes squatting a real chore.

Hopefully they allow fatties, some of the people I've seen training for it are about 15-20kg lighter than me and there's no talk of weight classes ha.

10/04/13 - #29 W2D2 2hr5m

Pause Deads All w/belt, 29m
115kg x 3
137.5kg x 3
160kg x 3 x 2
172.5kg x 2 x 4

Bench 18m
67.5kg x 6
80kg x 6 x 2
87.5kg x 6 x 4

Flys
8kg's x 10 x 5

14inch Pulls All w/belt, 34m
127.5kg x 4
150kg x 4
172.5kg x 4 x 2
185kg x 4 x 2

Everything was easy, then block pulls happened. They weren't overly hard but something was off in my lower back.

Hips still not recovering, will see what happens on Friday.

Just below knee is my intention, helping me keep the bar in and stay in a better position to lockout. This was last weeks:

Holy Moly those pause deadlifts look hard. Probably means I should be doing them too.

Awesome stuff JT. Hope the hip eases up soon. Strongman stuff looks like a lot of fun.

I quite enjoy the pause deads, odd I know. Thanks, still beat down. The strongman stuff is great, will be competing sometime soon for sure.

Cheers, good work will likely be on hold for a short while.

12/04/13 - Not Sheiko

Squat
Up to the 140kg x 3's and called it.

Bench
142.5kg x 1 tng PB
+RSling
140kg x 3
12min AMRAP w/70%
100kg x 10,5,5,5,3,3,3,3

Hips are still too beat, it's not mainly from Sheiko but the constant volume isn't letting them recover at all.

We decided that we'd bench and have some fun as we probably won't get to train together for a while and we both have a ton of work. I lost on the 70% AMRAP by 4 reps or so but I went first and I PB'd bench already. Not the best press but I'll take it.

Likely won't be in for at least a week, partly to rest but mainly because I've left a lot of work pretty damn late.
