Thanks T-Bone, my bench seems to have shot up recently, I'm not complaining though!

16/12/11 - Squat 5/3/1 + 1RM Testing

Squats
55kg x 5
67.5kg x 5
80kg x 3

(5/3/1 went to 3/1/1)
100kg x 3
115kg x 1
127.5kg x 1

137.5kg x 1 PB
145kg x 1 PB
150kg x 1 PB
155kg x 1 PB
160kg x 1 PB
165kg x 1, +30kg PB

That was enough for me today, I'm amazed at how easy some of these felt and went in thinking that 145kg would be a struggle. My highest ever predicted 1RM is 145kg and highest single was 135kg. Overall, today was unbelievable and it was fun to keeping stacking the plates on. Maybe had some more in me but not after 6 attempts.

This brings me to a 475kg/1047lbs at 90kg/198.4lbs, so officially in the 1000lb club. It also brings me massively closer to a long term goal, which I expected to be much further off, of a 500kg total.

Here's the video, skip to 2 minutes if you don't want to watch the first 5 .

Awesome squatting! You have great speed on the way down which means you get a lot of rebound out of the hole. It also means that when you hit that sticking point, you don't stop completely even with the 165, you just slow down. I've never watched you squat before and I am massively impressed. Well done. Depth is ridiculous and bar speed is great. Keep it up and you'll be smashing your way to 5pps next year easily. Looks like you're going to have to adjust those training maxes for 5/3/1 though

Thanks LtL, it's great to get feedback from an experienced lifter like yourself. After our short chat earlier, I've been in touch with the North West BDFPA rep to find out the dates and location of the divisional in January. I have a lot of exams around then but I'm hoping I can fit it in so I may be picking your brains sometime soon. If not January, then it will be at the next possible chance to compete, thanks for the kick I needed.

Making it look easy JT. Now that you've hit the 1000 club I think you will be surprised at how fast you move up to the 1200 pound club.

Amazing work and your squatting is like watching a squatting clinic! What have you done differently do you think that has caused you to make a 30kg PR in both deadlift and squats?
