Hope you recover as fast as I did! Weird, but after sleeping most of the day yesterday, I woke up today feeling fairly decent. Then picking up my daughter, she says she wants to go to the gym since it's raining and we can't play outside. I figure I gotta take advantage of that!

I'm sticking with the pullups for now, but considering the beating my hands and forearms took last week, if I have trouble holding onto the bar for deadlifts again this week, then I'm probably going to have to cut them out. We'll see.

Thanks, Fazc and Pull!!

No PR today, but I feel much better about my squats! I went back to Goblet squats to warmup and reminded myself of all the physical cues I use, and it worked great. Much deeper and stronger, got my bounce back, etc. I know I'm on the right track as my thighs were like balloons afterward, banging into each other, if I'd been wearing corduroy, I'd have started a fire walking out of there!

Thursday, week 4

Goblet Squat, some held at the bottom a bit working on pushing knees out with elbows and feeling comfortable, some done very fast, etc. Like 25 or so reps with weights up to 50DB.

Squat:
10x bar, 95, 135
5x 165, 185
2x 205
1x 225

5x 1x 245 all done well, add weight next time
5x 5x 205

Leg Press: 5x 5x 12 plates

Kneeling Cable Chops: 5x 12, each side

So, a bit less weight, but very pleased with the success, and about my progress going forward. I'll do the same thing with deadlifts on Sunday. Drop that weight down to 295-300 and hit all the reps correctly.

I am just back from 8 days in Orlando! Didn't touch a weight, but walked about 7,000 miles all over DisneyWorld, Seaworld, etc.

Seriously, what are those muscles around your hips just above your butt? The ones made to not enjoy walking/standing in line for hours at a time? Those hurt like the dickens, but I'm hoping for a gym session tomorrow to get back in the swing of things.

My old brain forgot you were heading on vacation. I was starting to wonder if you became a monk.

Those muscles...I don't know what they're called, but I know what you mean.
