I decided to hit the gym today. I feel great, energized even, so I went and did it up right with some upper body work.

Dips-
BWx8
+25x8
+35x8
+35x8
+35x8
*I used a dip belt, but put it around my neck to make sure I stayed angled and hit my chest hard. It felt good to do them that way and wasn't as awkward as having the belt around my waste.

Close grip incline bench press, thumb's length from the smooth- (super-setted with T-bar rows)
90x5
135x5
155x5
185x3
135x5 (Pointers on the smooth)
135x5 (Thumb's length from the smooth)
135x3 (Pointers on the rings)

T-bar rows with v-grip- (weights listed without bar weight)
50x20
75x20
100x17+3 pendlay style
125x10 pendlay style

Hammer strength row machine-
70x20
90x15
45x32

Incline dumbell curls-
25x12
30x10

Pendlay T-bar rows FTW!! Those things are the shit, and will be making many more appearances in my log. Everything else felt good too. This was a good session, and I'm excited to get back in there tomorrow for some SQUATS!

I wasn't able to get to the gym today. My wife and I got to go to another Gator game and we ended up staying longer than I planned to, because the freaking gators couldn't close the deal early enough. They won though, so that's good.

Anyways, I'll do both squats and military presses tomorrow, which works out fine because I hit my back plenty hard yesterday so if I can't get much back tomorrow that's fine.

I met up with another future soldier this morning for a running/sled pulling session. There were supposed to be a number of guys showing up, but people love TALKING about getting together and getting some work done. When it comes time to SHOW UP, it's amazing how many people can't seem to get it together.

Anyways, I said I'd be there, and my word is law so I was. Amazingly enough, the other future soldier who showed up is also one of the leaders who has no problem passing his PFT.

We ran 2 miles, then busted out my pulling sled and did about 10x40 yard pulls each with 60lb on the sled. It was a good warm up for my squat/military press session coming up here in a bit.

Nail on head. You think more guys would value group training.

Just saw your 295x10 deadlifts. Powerful set.

Thanks. My big issue is getting it of the ground. If I can do that once, I can usually go touch and go for quite a few reps. I'm sure as I get more experience pulling from the ground and start pulling bigger numbers that will change.

Just got done in the gym making up for not getting in yesterday. When I got in there were guys squatting on both the power rack and the squat rack. I happily waited, and it was great to see these racks being used for their intended purpose. Soon the power rack was open and I got to it.

Squats-
45x5
135x5
185x5
225x5
*At this point I put 255 on, but soon said screw it and through 25's on each side instead.
275x5 (according to 531 I was supposed to work up to 240)
295x3
135x15

*There were 2 guys next to me in the squat rack. I could tell one of them was a bit intimidated. He was only doing 185 with a pad on the bar. He told his buddy that he was going "as low as" he could. His knees were going straight forward, so no wonder he could only get 3/4 of the way down. Why don't people learn to do these things correctly?!

Leg extensions-
90x17
70x15+3 partials

Military press-
45x5
95x5
115x5
125x5

Slightly bent over single arm DB upright rows-
35x5
40x5
50x5
55x5
60x5
65x5

Lateral raise machine-
80x17
70x16+3 partials

At this point, spent, I got up to leave and noticed that the two guys who had been on the squat rack were still on the leg press machine. I easily did twice the sets they did while I was there, and also worked both legs and shoulders plenty.

Some people will never learn. . .

I've been frustrated by the results of my cut. It seems like if I don't STAY on my cutting diet I immediately gain back too much for my taste. I knew there would be a rebound, but what feels like "normal" eating ends up gaining me 3lb overnight. I gained 5lb last weekend, then lost it during the week, then gained it on the weekend again. All this is happening with very healthy, normal eating on the weekends and remaining very active.

The good news is that my muscles seem to be filling out slightly, the bad news is my belly also seems to be filling out slightly.

It's too late at this point to worry about aesthetics. It's time to focus on building the best performance I can in these last moments before I ship. I feel better than I've ever felt before. Not only do I feel very strong, I also feel like I have the endurance necesary to do what I need to do and then some. I'm going to keep pushing myself hard, because I feel like my body is doing a good job of adapting to the high workload under which I'm placing it.

I'm going to continue to use IF this week along with a full dose of EC stack and see if I can end the week around 200lb.
