First Restart, Wk3 (Wk16), Wednesday, 1-18-11
Squat 130, 161.25, 193.75, 193.75
OH Press 96.25, 116.25, 135, 153.75
Deadlift 225, 265, 305, 355
Pulldown (3x8) 10,11,11
Calf Raise (3x8) 180, 200, 220
Cable Crunch (3x10) 18,18,19

Grip started failing on my "over" hand on deadlift on the last rep. Must focus on my grip and squeezing the bar.

Will hit my "old" 5 rep maxes next week. Pumped up for them.

First Restart, Wk3 (Wk16), Friday, 1-20-12
Squat 130, 161.25, 193.75, 226.25, 265(3), 193.75(8)
Bench 121.25, 152.50, 182.50, 213.75, 250(3), 182.50(8)
Row 80, 100, 120, 136.25, 160(3), 120(8)
Dips - Skipped
B.Curls (3x8) 75, 85, 95
Tri. Ext. (3x8) 17, 18, 19

Felt fine. I was shocked I got the 3 squat and bench reps w/o much struggle. Skipped dips b/c my right wrist was hurting at the end of bench, and I wanted to give it some time off for Monday. Old 5 rep maxes next week, and after that...NEW 5 rep maxes!

First Restart, Wk 4(Wk17), Monday, 1-23-12
5x5
Squat 132.50, 165, 198.75, 231.25, 265
Bench 125, 156.25, 187.50, 218.75, 250(3,2)
Row 80, 100, 120, 140, 160
Hyper (2x5) 55, 55
Situp (3x10) 45, 55, 55

Hit all my old 5 rep maxes, except for bench. It was odd. I got 3 reps pretty easy, then nothing. Waited 1 minute and got 2 more. Excited about how good squats felt.

I must admit that I am feeling the need for some variety in this workout, or perhaps more volume. Eh, I should hit 200 pounds of bodyweight the first week of march and then will start trying to cut off some of the bodyfat I've put on during this gain. I may change the workout up then. Perhaps the RealResults upper/lower split--it's got volume and variety.

I like variety too. It's hard for me to stick to a super strict approach and not allow myself 1-2 exercises day to do whatever I want with.

You could do a basic pull, squat press fullbody with 1-2 extra exercises per day, or an upper lower.

First Restart, Wk 4(17), Wednesday, 1-25-12
Squat 132.50, 165, 198.75, 198.75
OH Press 98.75, 118.75, 137.50, 157.50

Pulldown (3x8) 10, 11, 12
Calf Raise (3x8) 190, 210, 230
Cable Crunch (3x10) 18, 19, 19

Hit my "old" 5 rep maxes in Deadlift and OHP.

The last rep of OHP stalled with the weight over the center of my head. I think I managed to get the lockout out of the fear of crushing my head if the rep failed.

On Deadlift--grip was great b/c I borrowed a bit of chalk from a friend. Sadly, it is outlawed in my gym, and I know that is usually a very bad sign, but this gym is by far and away the best for free weights in this area, so I don't have much of a choice. I will get myself some chalk and bring it in with me--that's right, I'm a rebel. LOL.

No, but I'll pick some up when I get the chalk. Might as well try them both.

It's worth a shot. A couple guys here have used it in gym settings where chalk was banned.
