Thursdays are a bit tough on this schedule... i have heavy squats and a heavy bench session tonight! Might split it up today and go knock out squats in a little while, then go back tonight for upper work...

Best of luck. Destroy both of them.

12-22-11

AM session.

Squats
45x10 x 2 sets
135x5
225x3
275x1
315x1
Added belt
365x1
395x1
415x1 PR!!!
335x3 x 2 sets

Smoked 395 pretty easy, so i decided to go for it. Wasnt my prettiest squat ever, but i got it! I have to work on staying more under the bar... all the years of wide stance have me wanting to sit way back, and that doesnt go well with medium stance. I need to use more knee drift and keep my torso more upright. I can see in different videos that when i let my knees track forward and stay more upright, i usually destroy the weight, whereas when i sit back too much it turns into a squat/good morning. 415 was more of a squat/ gm than i wanted it to be, but i refused to fail with it even though i knew i was off groove.... ugly as it may have been, a pr is a pr!!!

You can see the form differences in the 2 following videos...

12-22-11

Rotator warmup
30 lb on cable stack. 20 reps each way.

Crazy bench. Reverse band (mini's suspended from top) + chains (50 lb)
Wacked out warmups
165x10
185x10
235x5
285x3
305x3 x 4 sets. Paused.

Hammer rowe 90x20

Plate curl 45x20

Tube Band tricep ext.
60 reps each arm

Lots of work with light tube band. Rear delts, curls, face pulls. Several sets of 20 each.

Solid workout... wanted to do my floor presses as usual, but i would have had to wait, so i just worked in with the crew doing the crazy looking bench. Actually felt very smooth... dont reallly know why, but i kind of liked it. The reverse bands deloaded the bottom slightly, and then gave less as the weight moved up, also picking up the chains. Overloaded the top hardcore, but it matched my natural strength curve spot on...

Assistance work was very light today, as i'm feeling pretty beat up. Elbows are getting sub zero'd tonight...
