Life sucks! Now that's out of the way


Haven't been updating because I'm only doing tick-over stuff ad-lib style at present.

We went for a short-ish walk today and out for lunch, hubby's foot/leg/ankle (the fusion area) gave way whilst 3/4 the way through the walk, in the sense of extreme pain and almost impossible to walk on, so he is now back in the airboot and will be keeping an eye on things; and really keeping his fingers crossed that he doesn't need to see the osteo specialist as well this year...he already has 2 specialists that he needs to see.

Tomorrow, we should be seeing a couple that we met 22 or so years ago, they've decided to leave the islands, so we are trying to meet up before they go.


Today's upperbody and lowerbody exercise was simultaneously manouvering a wheelchair and a full trolley; I still had the imprint of the ridges of the wheelchair handle in my palm over 20 minutes after I'd finished pushing the thing

My TOS has been acting up and the upper back is annoying me, so I need to get some deadlifts in and soon; it seems if I don't exercise, I feel more pain (weakness, maybe), whereas with exercise I just have intense pain but at least strengthen the area...it's a lose-lose scenario but I prefer the latter option.

I was hoping to get going this week, with the exercise, which I still just might, but am waiting until after our visitors have been.


On the upside, we have no snow, as yet

Worse comes to worse you could deadlift your husband

Any dumbbells you could do DB deadlifts with?

Worse comes to worse you could deadlift your husband

Any dumbbells you could do DB deadlifts with?
I have some KBs that are easy to get to, so I could resort to those (for KB deadlifts) but I really feel the urge to do some rack pulls or something heavy.

I think hubby's weight it slightly out of my deadlift range but I am closing in on it

Oh yeah; it's a strange set-up...once you've had the induction, as long as you make yourself known from time to time, you can just keep turning up (if you pay by the single session, 4.75 or 5 something, pretty sure it's the 5 mark); or you can get a 10-card prepaid sessions which you need to use within 3 months (42-45, can't remember which but slightly cheaper than the single session, basically you get one session for free); or just get an annual membership (just over 300) and turn up as and when but that one seems pointless because I wouldn't attend that much.

I like the first option because there's less to do there and you're stuck if the barbell is in use, but it keeps the membership open. They prefer you go a few times a year because that way you don't get left behind on new equipment etc and then don't require yet another induction.

I like the prepaid 10 sessions option.

I like to occasionally train at a commercial gym but when I do the one off fee is substantial.
