That left arm's still not strong enough to get that 20kg up there one day, though

Exactly where I was around just over a month ago, according to my records, with no KB training since; so all in all, very good.
Nice work 5k, and not bad at all to say you haven't trained with KB for month! I gotta get me a KB to play with around the house

Thanks Mr.Silverback

With KBs it's just a case of selecting the right starting weight depending on current strength and related to what specific exercises a person might want to use them for, ideal though for sitting in a corner and using on the go. For me, of course, since I've decided only to go to 28kg KBs, it's a lot cheaper than it would be for someone like yourself that is a lot stronger and may find even the 28kg too light for OHP/OHJ.

true, it may get a bit expensive for myself...so I will be asking the Mrs. Silverback for one at a time...lol

I mainly want to get one for her and the kids to use, simply because we are terribly busy sometimes and the gym isn't an option for her at times.

For women, it is suggested that non-training/no experience with weights should start at 8kg (17 lbs), lifter/intermediates should go with a 12kg (25 lbs), and the stronger female should opt for the 16kg (35 lbs); they suppose that few women will use 20kg+ (44 lbs).

For kiddies, the 8kg is probably the best choice.

8kg is also good for females for OHP/TGU/snatches/one arm swings
12kg is good for females for Jerks/push press/two arm swings (one arm if they feel up to it)

I have swung the 28kg with two arms but I started light as well and built up to it. 16kg, I can snatch but at the moment I feel more comfortable with the highest load of 12kg for that move. I use the 12kg for the TGU but am hoping to get to the 16kg and beyond etc.

I hope that may give some insight about weightloads.

Looks like I have some more sewing to do this weekend, in a good way. I managed to find a company that sells seatbelt material and delivers to this area, so I ordered myself 5m of it; that will allow me to make subsequent sets of straps.

It's softer on the wrists than the jute/hessian style stuff feels, so I'm hoping to get them made and ready for use in a few days; I'll let you all know how they feel, once used.

Cinema tonight

LOL, it'll just save me searching online again to find some, should they change their delivery areas. You could get Mrs LtL to make you some 7.50 excluding p&p was pretty good for 5m.

KB jerks
5 x 8kg R/L
5 x 12kg R/L
3 x 16kg R/L
20kg not today, no matter
11 x 12kg L/R

1/2 a Waiter's Press @ 12kg R, upperarm parallel to floor and held for a few seconds...maybe try that again when I'm feeling it.

Really wasn't feeling it today at all.
