Thanks guys, glad you missed me Tank
Massive Iron is back

Was good to catch up with the lads and will be going back for a wedding in 8 weeks. Till then, it's time to smash some weights with my new and improved schedule.
Friday April 20

10 chins: 5, 3, 2 - Will do 11 on Sunday

Push Press
bar warm up
35x5
45x3
55x2
60x1
65 (143) x3
65x3
65x3
65x3
65x3 - Some sets felt light while others were tough. No surprises there considering the short lay off.

Close Grip bench
50x5
65x3
80x3
80x3
80x3
80x3
80x3 - Pleased with these.

Bench Press
65x6
65x6
65x6
65x6
65x6 - Formulated a plan whereby I hit each of my 5 main lifts (bench, deads, squat, power cleans and push press) twice a week. The second session will be comprised of 5 sets of 6 reps below 60% at the end of the session. I will increase to 5x7, 5x8 until I hit 5x10 then move up a weight and try and do 5x10. Weight stays the same till the reps are hit. This will add extra volume and maybe conditioning too as I keep rest period relatively short (or try to).
This will also help me dial in technique even more.

Front Squats
40x3
45x3
47.5x3
50x3 - These are hard! The weight is fine but my forearms and wrists don't like the weight!

Rope Pulldown
Pin 18: 1 x 10
Pin 16: 2 x 10 - Tried a different technique

Bike sprints
6 x 15 secs with 30 seconds rest.

Now I have a ton of work to do and a wife to pick up at Heathrow tomorrow. Fun 6-7 hour round trip. Will check other people's logs as soon as I can. Missed you guys :P

Love plans like that. Always fun to see new, interesting ways or progressing.

Thanks guys, it should be an interesting and hard journey. Let's see if I can handle the heat.

Sunday 22 April
Chins x 11: 5, 3, 2, 1

Squat
20x5
40x5
60x4
70x3
85x2
100x1
107.5x3
107.5x3
107.5x3
107.5x3
107.5x3 - Not easy at all. Probably harder than it should have been but I did hit really good depth on all 15 reps. 140x3 for 5 sets would be awesome. Hopefully can achieve that in the next 4 months.

Good Mornings
60x5
70x3
72.5x3
75x3
77.5x3
80x3 - My main problem here is expecting it keep my legs straight when it just isn't a good idea! Decent form and my hamstrings are a touch sore which is a good sign (I think!)

Dynamic Shrugs
60x5
100x5
130x3
130x3
130x3
130x3
130x3 - Good. More weight next week. I want to be hitting 4 plates by August.

Power Cleans
55x6
55x6
55x6
55x6
55x6 - For an ill-conditioned soul like me, these felt like cardio! Got good snap in the upper part of the lift.

Russian Twist with 12.5kg dumbbell
3 x 10

Nice work Kuyt. That's lots of volume. Watch your body closely these coming weeks.

Great work, Kuyt! You'll handle the heat. No question. 140x 3 will be epic.

High rep cleans are a killer! That'll put a hurt in you. I don't have the guts to even try that!
