I am off to Ireland for a week so I'll be getting a rest which I may well need.
Hope it's all rest and no work.

Enjoy the time off Kuyt and hurry back. Unless you're having fun.

Thanks guys but I have 2 sessions to go and hopefully one big PR to come

Sunday April 8
Squat
bar x 5
40x5
60x5
80x3
100x2
115x1
115x1
125x1
140x1 PR! Yes, yes, yes!!!!! Hit parallel this time. Might have been ugly as sin but to me it was a thing of beauty

Good Mornings
60x5
80x3
85x3
90x3
95x3
100x3 - Maybe back to drawing board again. Video showed my GM's looked fairly hideous. Arse stuck out too far and knees bent too much.

Power Cleans
60x3
70x3
70x3
70x3
70x3
70x3 - Needed to get in some work on these. Comfortable.

Chins
6,5, 3.5, 2 Happy with the 6 + 5

Hammer curls
25x6
25x6
25x6 - GUNZZZZZZ!

Decline Sit up + 25kg Dumbbell
3 x 8
Much harder than using a plate IMO

That squat is my favourite PR to date, the one that means the most to me. I hope one day to celebrate a 4pps squat in similar fashion

I mentioned in Increasing Strength that I was moving away from singles for now. I love singles and will be back but I'd like a slight change for now. The exercises will remain the same, the focus will be on compounds and progression and I want to kick some arse!

Bascially, it will be 5 sets of 3. I am kind of using Prilepin's table BUT I am being a tad conservative by beginning at 75% of 1RM rather than 80%. I figure that a couple of weeks of getting in the groove and getting the work done will be better in the long term.

So for squat which is 140kg, I begin at 105kg x 3 x 5 which I know I can do.
Bench is 112.5kg so 85 x 3 x 5 will be the start, again, something which is well in hand.
Deadlift will be 135-140 x 3 x 5. It is 180kg now but I hope it will be more on Wednesday!
Push Press is 85kg so I'll start at 65 x 3 x 5
Power clean is 87.5kg so I already started at 70 x 3 x 5 which was comfortable.
I'm continuing to do the same assistance exercises as currently.

Being the impatient sod that I am, I will test it out on Bench and squat on Tuesday. I may not go for another 1RM after Wednesday until July/August. By then, I hope my total will be 30-35kg better than now as 500kg is the end of year goal and I am 67.5kg short right now.

Listen to me trying to justify myself I'm just going to do it, kick some arse and hopefully be doing 5 x 3 @ 90-100% at some point.

No excuses, no shortcuts.
