Squat PR!

My bench arch sucks too. You're not alone.

i wouldn sweat the "not great" 107.5kg bench , given time and effort (which i am sure you will put in) you will be posting that a 120kg bench was "not great" and the 107.5kg will be only a lift that is done as a build up

Thanks a million guys Yeah Steve, but you bench 420+ so it's ok for you

Thursday 5 April
Tough session today. Really had to dig deep. Wanted to stop after 4 reps in the deadlift but that would just be a cop out. Delighted I persevered. Desire does great things for you.

Chins
5,4,3,2,1 in Pavel's Ladder style - Quite happy with this. We'll try 6 next time.

Deadlifts
80x5
110x3
140x1
162.5x2- PR for double. Previous best double was 150
162.5 x singles x 8 - Tough but only rep 9 was a grinder. A good day when you hit 10 reps @ just over 90%

Pendlays
60x5
72.5x5x5 - Some reps were off, possibly tired from the deads.

Lat Pulldown
Pin 13: 5,5,4 - Probably drop to Pin 10 for 3 x 12 to get better work in.

Dynamic Squats
I confess, I decided to wear a belt to see what happened. Good smooth, fast reps in the main.
77.5kg: 10 sets of 2

Seated DB Curl
20x5x3
Drop set 20x3, 17.5x5, 15x5 - Oh how I hate working biceps

Thanks guys. I am also delighted because my rest periods were relatively short. Those 8 singles and double took about the same time that 5 singles used to take at a lower weight.

Killing it, Kuyt! Squat and Deadlift PRs very nice! Bench creeping up there too. Might be grinders now, but won't be for long.

Nice work.

Thanks Mike but everything is starting to feel heavy!

I am off to Ireland for a week so I'll be getting a rest which I may well need. Today I felt drained with no explosive power remaining at all. I need to keep it together for 3 more sessions. Hoping to hit 140kg in the squat tomorrow and need a better day than today to do it. I did hit one PR (I think) so it ain't all bad.

Chins x 6 - Did these as warm up.

Clean and push press
40x5
50x3
60x2
70x1
77.5x1 - This felt good
80x1 - This almost failed!
80x1
82.5x0 - Clean never got going, felt dead.
77.5x3 - PR for reps I think
77.5x1
77.5x1
77.5 feels comfortable but anything above it does not. Cleans were awful today.

My plan for when I get back involves doing 4-10 singles at 90% as per Prilepin. May attempt a PR once a month. If my singles go up weekly, I may not be far away from PRs in any case!

Dynamic Shrugs
60x5
100x5
140x3x3
120x5 - These Sucked today! No power at all. Hands are destroyed from deadlifts as well!

Close Grip Bench
80x5
80x5
80x5

DB Chest Press
30x5
32.5x5
35x5
40x3 - 35 felt easy so this was a shock. May do 37.5x5x3 next time.

Push press
40x10 - Just did this to finish off cos I was done!
