Man these were a slap in the nuts! Just did a few sets to see where I'm at. Not very far is the answer! Found a setting where I begin right at parallel (recorded the first set). First rep is a killer!
Nail on head.

Strong effort Kuyt.

Nice lifting today mate.
Thanks Hazz. Liquid chalk, hmmmm... Maybe in the future yes.

Good stuff, Kuyt! I can't imagine pulling 170 without chalk!

I'm googling liquid chalk right after a finish perusing the logs, btw.

And that stuff about grip and upper back makes sense. My rows are on the weak side too, and my pullups are pathetic. Another on the list of things to improve it seems.

Kuyt, I take it from the comments that your gym doesn't allow chalk? Personally, I think liquid chalk is inferior to solid, but it can still make a massive difference. My grip is hopeless - I'm like a baby on farmer's walk - and without chalk, I'm a good 30 kg down on an olympic bar. Get yourself some.

Gloves are the work of the devil. Embrace the calluses.

Oh, great work by the way.

Saturday 25 February

Power Cleans
bar warm up
52.5x5
62.5x3
72.5x1
82.5x1 - Baseline felt good this week
72.5: 5 x trebles
I have the worst conditioning ever! These were tiring.

RDLs
70x5
90x3
105x5x3

Weighted chins
+ 5kg: 2 sets of 3
Regular Chins
1x4
I may just do 20 reps of these next week and work up to 30 then go back to weighted.

Seated DB curls
15kg: Decided to do 20 reps in total and this worked out as 10,6,4

10 minutes on treadmill @ 5.4mph

Strong power cleans Kuyt. I'm with you on the conditioning, I'm usually gasping for air by rep 4/5.
