A true PR is always ugly; awesome lifting Kuytrider!

Even more impressive since you weren't feeling up to par.

The worse you feel the better you lift, that's the way it always is. Huge PR Kuyt, and the close grip paused sound awesome!

Squats are looking good Kuyt!

As said above, an ugly PR is an accurate PR

Who cares about ugly PRs, thats the way they should be, if u can do a PR with perfect form then I think you can lift more.

Thanks guys, today was an odd there in the gym. It was packed at a time it was usually empty. Almost all of them were doing curls or chest flies. This included 2 guys doing curls in the power rack
I got stuck in a small corner by the bin where on two occasions I had to tell guys standing watching their mates doing preacher curls to get out of the way of the bar while I was deadlifting. One guy was actually standing over it after I got set up. Talk about oblivious! This annoyed me which translated into PRs

Thursday 2 August
Week 7 day 2

Strict OHPs
40x5
45x5
52.5x5
60 (132) x 5 PR This surprised me since I almost failed rep 1! Rep 5 was easier!

Deadlifts
90x5
115x5
135x5
160(352) x 5 PR
- Paused for a couple of seconds between reps 4 and 5. Was damned determined not to miss 2 weeks running at a weight I knew I had.

Power Shrugs
100x5
130x3
150x3
155x3
160x3
165x3
170x3
120x8 - Strict shrugs

Power Cleans + Push Press
60x3
65x2
72.5x1
80 (176)x1
82.5x0 - Bar slipped as I lifted and I couldn't be arsed doing it again as any explosiveness I had was gone by now

Leg Press
160x8
210x8
240x8
270 (594) x 8 PR

Leg Curls
Pin 8: 1x8, Pin 9: 1 x 8, Pin 10: 8, 7, 5

Chins during session
5, 5, 4, 4, 4

Weighted Declines with 15kg plate overhead
3 x 8

Wife wants pizza tonight so I needed an epic session to justify the treat

Pizza!

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with the curls and flyes crowd. I'm sure I would get kicked out for being rude to them.

Smashed it!
Thanks Steve
I get pretty intense near PR territory as most people do. By the 135x5 set, I looked pretty serious and angry when I did the sets as I like to internally psyche myself up. By the final set, they had moved a few feet away
I really felt my upper back crushing and straining but it's important to push through it. VERY satisfying feeling at the top of the final rep.
