Looking forward to seeing the vids. I really wonder sometimes if a deload is the way to go. It seems the week after a deload the DOMS kill me.

Default 10/8/2011 Muscle on Main Strongman Contest Morton, IL

I felt good going into the day. Weighed in at 255. I got checked in, grabbed the comp shirt and started to warm up. During warmups with the log, my right bicep started to hurt badly again. This would play into just about every event.

First Event:
Zero reps with the log. Weight was supposed to be 240, which is a weight i can hit for a few reps. Between the bicep and the tiny log, I couldnt do a dman thing with it.

Next Up:
Didnt do as well as I wanted here either. The yoke is an art I have not picked up yet. I did make it farther than the comp last month, so a PR in this event. There was supposed to be a farmers walk afterwards, but I wasnt awesome enough to attempt it.

Next Up:
This was a blast. I didnt do as well as I would hope. The apparatus was around 500 pounds and the springiest bar I have ever seen. First time in this event so a PR!

Next Up:
Very fun event. My bicep was hurting real bad so I did this without using my right arm for pulling. If you look close you can see me almost take a header right as a random dude walks in front of the camera. First time at a truck pull so a PR!

Last Event:
I completely sucked here. This was mostly due to being gassed out. The first stone was 225, but felt like 305. I couldnt load the 250 stone. I had shouldered that stone in the past. Pretty dissappointed in that.

Final thoughts: I had a blast. I did poorly but the crew I train and compete with are awesome. Next Comp is Nov 19 in Dubuque, IA!

I want a deadlift bar like that for home.

Nice effort all the way around. Yoke looked pretty solid for a while. How does the bicep feel now?

Bicep feels OK. I guess the best word to describe would be tweaked. Hurts down by the elbow on the inside of the arm. I am sure its nothing a few weeks of rest won't fix.

Rotten luck with the bicep Austin! But you still moved some heavy fkn weight there - I'm positive I couldn't dead 500 lbs for reps, with a regular bar, let alone that wobbly sonofabitch!

The bendy bar is supposed to help. unfortuneately for me, it let the weight break from the ground right at my sticking point in the deadlift
