Hard day today on the ego. My deadlifts are getting weaker, and it kills me. Tweaked my right upper trap today, so did some rep work on deads which felt better.

Deadlift
135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 3
365 x 1

415 x 1 - straps, couldn't hold on to anything. part of it is sweat, part of it is grip
315 x 4 x 5

BTNP

115 x 4 x 5 - felt pretty good

Cable Low Row - Parallel close grip
50 x 5 x 10 - I'm not convinced its only 50 pounds, feels closer to 100, but who knows

Hey, any day with some 415 deads can't be all bad! You'll bounce back soon.

Yeah, cable machine numbers mystify me too. I don't believe them and simply count the pin hole as the way to not let them mess with my mind.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, I shouldn't complain about 415 so much, but before I messed up my neck I could get 10 singles in under 10 minutes with it, so I'm feeling sorry for myself. I just need to belly up to the bar and drop the weight back down for a few weeks and work back up to it.

Where were your deads about 6 weeks ago Brute? Is this a temporarily stall or have you felt weaker a couple weeks in a row?

This has been the worst week so far. Last week I felt weaker, but the numbers looked ok. This week I hit PR's on Monday but couldn't get anywhere near last weeks deadlifting. Pre-injury, so about 8 weeks ago, I hit a 455 deadlift and was getting 425 for 5 singles, then didn't deadlift for about a month. 415 for 10 hasn't happened since about the first of the year.

All of that was done during an aggressive bulking phase as well, rather than my current cut, which could be playing a part.

I hope so. I'll talk more about this in the Brute Eats thread, but I'm thinking my IF experiment may be put on hold for a while. I have to accept that I am actually diabetic and when I don't eat my liver rebels and generates glucose to compensate, but it doesn't raise my blood sugar high enough to get insulin to kick in and bring it back down, so I'm running an average of 95 rather than the 80ish I like to see.
