Great work Brute. And your experience showed by being smart and dropping the weight when necessary rather than doing bad reps on higher weight.

Thanks SB! Stepping onto my oly platform in an hour. Sure, it may be at the gym, but when I walk in the door, everyone knows its mine.

Ummm.... It's a little scary how easy you came up with a book plan and synopsis for your Paleo/IF berry scam.
Thanks Mike! The final squats felt a lot better, and each set I was able to stay more upright. 275 is still tough, but I'm also thrilled that I'm doubling my 1 RM from 6 weeks ago.

As to the Paleo/IF, I had to laugh when I saw your comment. That sort of thing gets me a lot of opportunities and in a little trouble every now and then. I just start talking and turn my filters off and it usually comes out pretty well, but every now and then I end up with some bizarre stuff.

Thanks Kuyt! Its a constant battle between rational thought and rage under the bar.

Thanks J! Those are my favorite rep range right now. One of these days when I get my conditioning up, maybe I will be able to hold my breath long enough to get 5-8 heavy reps in, but right now I'm too fat!

Thanks OR! Deadlifts make the man, except when my vertebrae are out of alignment, in which case they unmake the man.

ARRRG. Brutal deadlift day today. Deadlift is still a little weak, but getting stronger. My hands seem to be the weakest link right now, so I may throw in some static holds and RDLs, which have helped in the past.

Deadlift
135 x 5
225 x 5
225 x 5 - sumo
315 x 3
315 x 3 - sumo
365 x 1
415 x 7 singles in 17 minutes - slow slow slow. Spent everything I had, but wanted more
315 x 10 - damn my conditioning, i had strength for 10 more, but things were going black and white on me

BTNP
Bar x 7
95 x 5
135 x 2
155 x 5 doubles - PR, most weight I've ever used on BTNP, and a full 5 doubles

Power Shrug
135 x 5
225 x 5
315 x 5
405 x 5
495 x 2 - my hands were so raw even the straps weren't helping much at this point. gotta work on that.

It strikes me today that some of the trouble I am having may be because I am cutting. All my big gains were going on whilst eating huge amounts. No excuses, but its also foolish not to take all the variables into account.

Welcome to my world. 10 reps is still enough to fry the glutes.

You feeling slippage on the heavy reps?

Yeah, after the first 3 or so heavy ones, the bar slips a lot when I break it from the ground, and then again when I go to thrust the hips through and lock it out.

Great session brute, seeing black and white just means you are working hard!

Also static holds are nothing but boring and very painful. They do though help with your grip, when I stopped doing them I think was holding 200 in each hand for 45 seconds of pure pain!
