Thanks BtB. Deadlifts start this week, looking forward to getting back into the full swing of things.

Thanks T-Bone. Its always tricky knowing when to push and when I'm about to injure myself, so taking the safe route for a few weeks is probably a good idea!

Thanks Josh. The work is starting to pay off. A year ago I put 295 on my back, attempted a 1/4 squat, and failed hard. I thought it was a full squat, but looking back at the video, it was pretty bad. 3PPS soon, and 4 is on the horizon!

Thanks Swede! 3 plates is going to be big for me. This year has some good things in store, I can feel it.

Today I surpassed my own expectations by quite a bit. A full squat at 3PPS. Videos will be up later this afternoon. My form wasn't perfect, but it didn't look too terrible for a max attempt either.

Squat
Bar x 10
135 x 5
185 x 3
225 x 2
275 x 1
300 x 1 (PR + 5 pounds)
315 x 1 (PR + 20 pounds)

Bench
200 x 5 triples - not enough time for 10 sets, but I am thinking I may drop volume down a bit anyway for a while and see how that treats me.

Thanks mab! I need to focus on keeping my chest up and not letting my hips rise faster than my shoulders, but we're getting there. Thanks for the encouragement!

Very good depth.

Don't know if I asked this before, but you squat high or low bar?

Thanks Chillen. A valuable insight.

Low bar mostly. Whenever I squat high bar for very long, I end up with a lot of neck pain. Figuring out where to put the bar is always a bit tricky.

Thanks Spart!

Magical day today, finally deadlifted again, feels like its been months, but only a couple of weeks. The weights were light so I tinkered with for a lot and have found better positions for my feet, hands, neck, and shoulders and reduced the pulling distance a fair bit. I also tried sumo stance, which felt a little easier but put some unpleasant stress on the hips. I may toy more with it later.

Deadlift
135 x 8
225 x 5 x 5

By the last set, I had my hands in about 2" closer than they had been, didn't have my head back as far, and my feet were directly under my hips. The shoulders just sort of followed. For the neck, I wasn't looking down, but I tend to throw my head really far back, which may be irritating my upper back and neck.

Seated Press
95 x 5 x 5
Last 3 sets were BTN, and felt much better on the upper back/traps

Lat Pulldown
85 x 5/6 - Nice and light, could feel a decent stretch in the area I had injured, but not too sore after.

In other news, I began a dedicated cut Sunday after an epic binge on Saturday night. I'm down 10 pounds in 3 days, and hope to lose a total of 32 pounds by June 1st.
