Thanks Kuyt! I'm thinking I may keep this around for when I want some hard work but need to take it easy on my joints/CNS. The reverse pyramid was A LOT harder than I thought it would be.

Highlights from this weekend with BtB, Gasp, Jen, and Ryano

Squats - played around with form some, hit a couple singles @275

Deadlift - new PR, 475. + 20 pounds 495 is going to fall next month

Bench - form work, hit 225, missed 245

Log Clean and Press - first time with a log. Weight was in the neighborhood of 155 pounds, clean and press for a triple

Sunday it was just BtB and me. Form work mostly, went through
BB Rows,
pendlay rows (hit 225, which is a 40 pounds PR)
RDL - 315 for a single, not a PR, but feeling more confident with them
Fun with leg pressing -> scariest leg press contraption I've ever seen.
Goblet Squats - 90 x 10 PR
Bulldozer Laterals
Face Pulls

A lot of fun, ready for a nap. It was great training with everyone and meeting them all face to face. Some seriously strong people. Thanks to BtB for getting us all together, and Roger for getting us into the Lock-Up (and an great BBQ after).

Thanks J! It was loads of fun. I may have to get a log now, cleans with it were awesome.

Thanks BtB. Thanks for taking time to coach on the big lifts too. It was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to doing it again some time, maybe up closer to you so you don't have the long drive.

Thanks Josh! 495 soon

So, did a bit of a deload today. Everything felt fairly light, form stayed tight on squats. BtB helped out a lot with explaining the knees out and when to begin pushing them out. Made the descent feel much more natural.

Squat
65 x 8
135 x 5
185 x 5
225 x 5 - best set of 5 @ 225 I've ever had. not really a PR, but certainly a triumph of form
275 x 2 - lost some tightness in my upper back on the second rep, but now I'm able to tell better what is causing the drop forward

DB Row - just some experimenting to find a weight that is challenging but light enough to push for high reps
45 x 5
65 x 6
80 x 5
95 x 5 -> I'm between 90 and 95 I think for higher reps.
105 x 4

DB Bench - same goal as the DB row, just testing things out
65 x 10
75 x 9 -> With a couple minutes rest between sets, I think 75 x 15 for a couple sets is definitely possible.

Nice work! Sod 495 (enough though it's 5pps in the US), 500 is where it's at for you

Dang Brute, you worked out again today?! You're an animal! This is why you are knocking on a 500 lb deadlift!!

Very nice meeting you this weekend -- again sorry for the groadie van -- that goes for you, too BTB! LOL!

Glad. I'm always a bit terrorized by giving squat advice when I can't be there the next few months to train with you in person
