Aye. Today was a lot better. Still a little tired, but kicked myself in the butt today and got it done.

The end. Found a small gym one town over that has everything I need. 30 minute drive, but its only $20 a month. Apparently a lot of the prison guards lift there, so there might be a few I could start lifting with. I'll check it out next week and see how it goes.

Thanks OR. It was a good day today, starting to get some confidence beneath the bar.

So I'm faced with a dilemma. There's a free strong man competition about an hour from here on Labor Day weekend. I want to compete, but I'm relatively weak for my size, especially in the overhead pressing. Should I compete and look stupid, or wait till I'm stronger?

Currently I'm thinking to heck with it, I'll compete and learn what I can. Its free, and anyone who mocks me can go home feeling good about being stronger than a guy who started seriously lifting less than a year ago.

Traps are sore for the first time in months today. I will be training clean and press every few days until labor day weekend. I think I have the strength I need to do it, just not the technique.

Planned on going boating today, but predicted afternoon thunderstorms stopped it. Went hiking instead, had a great time and ended up pretty out of breath on the climb out of the canyon. This tells me many things, not the least of which is that I need to do more GPP.
