Default 8 December 2011

SDS4DS - Cycle 1 - Week 1 - Shoulders & Biceps - Density
Seated BTNP - 85x7-7-5-5-4-5-6 (39)
Seated Arnold Presses - 30x10-5-6-6-5-8-10 (50)
DB Curls - 30x10-8-6-6-6-7-9 (52)

Abwork:
Decline situps - 10
Hanging Knee Raises - 10

Need to get used to the BTNP, they felt a little awkward. The bench I used in the power rack wouldn't go back far enough so I had to prop it up and it was still too close to the safety hooks. I'll get it settled though.

Everything else was good, but perhaps a little light. Still a good place to start.

Haven't done ab work in a long time, so started off light there too.

@tank - You know I will!

i'm not a fan of BTNP for that same reason. it feels unnatural. great session, and even better beard.

'tanks Tank! I just have to get in a good position and the BTNPs will take off. As for the beard, that's the source of my power!

if they beat you up don't hesitate to try seated military presses. That is, if you have an adjustable bench that can be angled down a hair.

Nice work TB. Have a great weekend.

I'll try them for a few more weeks and then decide. I'm not ready to swap out yet.

Yesterday's leg day fried me...check it out...

Default 9 December 2011

SDS4DS - Cycle 1 - Week 1 - Legs - Strength
Squats - 275x2-2-1-2-1-2-1-1 (PR for reps)
Leg Press - 705x12, x12, x8
Leg Extensions - 140x12 - 3 sets
Good Mornings - 95x12 - 3 sets

Wow! What can I say...this was brutal. At first I thought maybe I started too heavy with the Squats, but in hindsight, this is exactly what I was supposed to do. Next leg strength day, I'll try for at least one more rep. Once I get 8 sets of 3, then I'll add weight.

GMs hit my hams like nothing I've ever done before.

The leg presses finally hobbled me. My quads were so fried I could not continue, a first for me with pressing.

BTB, you'll be happy to know, I can barely walk this morning.

GMs are horrible, horrible, horrible.

Good workout. Watch your knees with those leg extensions!

Do you mean horrible as in brutal, or horrible as in bad?
