While the BP was not a PR in terms of weight or reps, I was right stoked to get what I did after the recent set backs I've had. I'm going to throw 5 pounds on next time and try for the same.
Nice work TB. Hope all is well.

Hey guys, thanks for the encouragement. Don't worry, I'm still here and still hitting the iron. The last two weeks have been very hectic. State convention season is upon us and all the candidates are getting the word out, and coming to us for their printing. Lot's of OT (which is a good thing).

I did hit my 315 goal on squat last week - 5 singles! Woot!

I'll be on vacation for the next ten days starting Sunday, and that's it for a while. I need to get back on a regular schedule, and will likely start on a new routine to change things up after the last eighteen months on the Strength/Density (which is fantastic btw!)

Any suggestions welcome, but I was thinking about Ken Banks' 5x5. I have never done that sort of program and want to give it a try.

Great way to start a vacation with PRs everywhere. Squats and Bench really looking good, and back seems to be cooperating too, so winning all around. Watch you'll come back stronger too.

Has it been 18 months? Wow. Time flies. You should post up where you were then and compare it to now!

5x 5 sounds like a winner. Tear it up T Bone.

Congrats on the squats. Beard power.

I'd give the Banks program a shot, but don't hesitate to tweak things to fit your experiences and needs.

Okay! I am finally back and ready to rip through a wardrobe of old clothes.

The vacation was great. I went to Fresno to attend my nephew's graduation and then spent some time in San Francisco and the the mountains a couple hours north of the city. Boonville to be precise. Lovely country, hot and dry and brown.

Now that the holiday is behind us, I started the Ken Banks 5x5 program today and here is how it panned out. Of course, this is the first time running a program like this so I started intentionally low to get a feel for it.

Tuesday - KB5x5
Bench Press - 137x5x5
Squat - 185x5x5
Lat Pull Downs - 10th pinx10x10x10
Ab Work - 3x10

I'll add some more assistance work as I progress, but haven't directly work the ol' abs for about a year. Felt it was time.

Weight: 206

It's good to be back at it. The iron felt really good.

Hey guys, just thought I'd throw down a few words to let you know I am still around and still lifting. Had a few minor setbacks over the summer, but nothing that kept me from the iron for long. Took a break from bulking and am now ready to get back to it!

I can't promise I'll log as frequently as I was, but any encouragement will be greatly appreciated as I, sadly, have a tendency to skip meals.

I'm still doing a 5x5 variation but honestly, I have found it tough to mentally get into that style of lifting. I'll stick with it though for a while longer.

Hope everyone is well and I'll try to fire up the ol' log sometime this weekend.
