I almost used the starting of a new job today as an excuse not to go get my iron on, but the real reason was that my shoulders have been hurting since Monday. It's not the good kind of hurting either. However, I still went and worked on form --I can't lift that heavy anyway--. Today was relatively light weight to save those shoulders.

A little history about my shoulders. I dislocated my left shoulder wrestling and I've separated my right shoulder in Judo.

Bench Press -Focusing on keeping everything tight and "rowing" down.

Bar x 20
95 x 10
115 x 8
135 x 10
140 x 10

Incline DB Bench - Focusing on Stretch and ROM

35s x 15
40s x 8
50s x 10
55s x 10

Weighted Dips - Focusing on decent ROM without endangering shoulder

BW x 10
10 x 15
25 x 10
30 x 10

Push Press - Kept elbows straight until lockout. Minimal shoulder pain.

Bar x 15
55 x 12
65 x 6
75 x 10
80 x 10

DB Lateral - I know, I know...

20s x 10
25s x 8

Today was not supposed to be a workout day, but I felt so motivated after watching some Kai Green videos that I figured I would go in today and take tomorrow off.

There was a former powerlifter at the gym today and he was critiquing my form on Squats, Deads, and Lunges. He said he would have given me the lights on my squats and that I was going just below parallel. I did tip forward a bit towards the end of my sets, but to counteract that I puffed my chest out more and drove through with my heels more.

As far as the Stiff-legged deads went they felt great minus my grip failing. I had to reset my grip on the second set, but it didn't take away from my set. He said I was doing a great job of shooting my hips into the bar to get the weight up.

He also said that I'm going too far down on my lunges!

I took 90 second breaks between each set and 120 seconds between exercises.

Legs

Squats

135 x 15
155 x 12
185 x 6
225 x 10
225 x 10

(230 next week)

Stiff-Legged Deadlifts

135 x 10
155 x 8
185 x 6
205 x 10
210 x 10

Leg Extensions

85 x 15
120 x 12
170 x 10
175 x 10

Seated Leg Curls Workin on those hammies

80 x 10
95 x 10
105 x 10
110 x 7

Walking Lunges

50s x 10
50s x 10

I reached a milestone today on Squats. It was only 4 1/2 months ago that I could only Squat 225 for 3 difficult reps. Today I did 2 sets of 10 with a 90 second rest in between.

Thank you, I'm dreading the upcoming weeks though. The program I'm on calls that I progress on both weight and volume over the next month, so the last week will call for 25 sets for legs before I reset.
