Meet write up

I made the cut down from 313 down to 303. Yeah I over did the cut a good bit, but thats what happens when its not a normal thing for you. I did my best to put it back on, but started to get sick from all the water intake.

On the day of the meet I woke up at 5:30 and ate a small breakfast. I got a meal to go as well, because I know after the squat I would need to refuel. Got to the meet plenty early. Warm up room had two monolifts, two benches, and two deadlift platforms. Flights were broke up by weight class, then openers. From 275 up to Shw were in my flight. I was 4th out of ten in my fight with a 903 opener. That should tell you how hard this meet was! From watching a few lifts the day before, I knew squats were going to have to break parrall. I am ok with that, as long as everyone is judged the same, and they were.

Squat:
Warm ups went well. I didnt hit the normal weights I would at the gym, but its moving so fast, no time to worry about the little things. Warm ups felt great, I was ready to rock! I had Honeycutt call me deep on the 903 to make sure I was in the game. Smoke show, the judge grabbed me afterwards and told me that it was a beautiful squat. Next attempt was 967(?) Didnt take this one as deep as 903, but still plenty of depth. Got on my toes a little bit, but felt strong. Took 1003 on my 3rd. A few face slaps later, center up on the bar, took it to depth, got an up call. Smoked it....I hear crickets.....then 3 whites appear!!!!

Bench: warm ups felt fine. Worked up to 650 to a little lower than a 2board. Open at 699.96 (I am calling it 700!) Lift out was a little off, but no big deal. Start to pull the bar down, never get a tuck call so I just kept brining it down. Once I knew where I was, it was too late. I just tried to tuck late and hope for the best, and well that didnt happen. Drove it straight to the rack. Broker my left pinky finger, but nothing I couldnt continue with. 2nd attempt at 700, I left the collar really high. Just didnt have enough to lock it out. 3rd attempt with 700, back against the wall, miss this lift, lose my squat, and go home! Pulled the shirt down a litte, tuck, tuck, tuck, press, rack..smoked! 1703 subtotal going into the deadlift.

Deads: Pulled in my single ply gear, and I only did a few reps to warm up. I was worn out and didnt need to lose what I had left. Took 628 for my opener for the pro total. Good. There was someone right on my heels, so I played it smart and took 677 on my
2nd to force him to get all 3 deads. 677 was easy, but did get a little dizzy. Took 700 on the 3rd because I thought it was safe. Weight was fine, but got called for a bar dip. If the guy in my class got his 3rd dead, I would lose! He missed it about knee high.

Finished with a 2380 total, first in the 308 class!
