Jim, I'm targetting next summer for 405. I'm figuring I can probably get 350 now, so 50lbs in a year is possible barring any more stupid injuries

Sz, I'm already doing some serious military press which destroys my triceps (on Saturdays). I'm going to be switching programs after my PL meet in a few weeks, so we'll see how my benching reacts to it.

Squats and Stuff


Nothing too fancy here, just some heavy squats and accessory work:

Squats (Warmup): 45/5 45/5 95/5 135/5 185/3 225/1 275/1
Squats: 315/5 315/5 315/5
RDL's: 315/5 315/5

At this point my lower back told me "Okay, idiot. I put up with this BS so far, but if you don't stop RIGHT NOW I'm going to make you regret it." I listened to it and called it a day. I've got vids of all the work sets -- trying to find my optimal squat positioning all over again (wearing a pair of Chucks today). Funny thing is... on my empty bar warmup sets, I can grip the bar on the sleeves just OUTSIDE the collars, the bar drops right over my shoulders, I squeeze the upper back nice and tight, and hitting depth is easy with no balance issues. The minute I have to grip the bar between the damn collars... the bar rides up to right under my neck and my balance is all f*cked and I end up leaning forward. Soo... I deal with it until I can get the KenGym.

Cool event of the day: On the way out, a guy complimented me on my squats saying that most people in the gym don't do them right. Personally I felt I was leaning too far forward and my depth was marginal at best on a few reps... but that felt pretty good.

I'll be uploading video later and will post once it's trimmed and spliced.

Don't feel lonely on that island. I know how the little change can mess things up. Your squats numbers are still potent and you'll get ti worked out.
