My appt. with the sports medicine specialist is not until April, so I will just carry on as normal until then. The X-rays did show some "Disc Narrowing" and Arthritis in the lower back, of which the specialist will give me more details and treatment.

Pretty sore all over today. I don't think i have ever needed a deload more than I do now. Might hit up some deload bench Sunday or Monday and then some seated OHP after that. As JB advised, I will do nothing standing this week until I start week 8 of the program next Saturday with the Crew.
Good news as far as your back is concerned super Jim ... Take it easy for some time and you will be back much stronger for next round ... Deload / rest and east ... And stay healthy brother ...

Thanks Swede!! Indeed, the lower back can take a big beating, but it also demands the most recovery time, especially for an old fart like me.

DELOAD WEEK SESSION 1

I know most of you likely hate deloads, but I actually like them alot. I get to freelance and do what I want and how I want, with the exception of any standing movements this week, as per the Boss.

I did some cardio for the first time in about a year. Call me crazy, but I absolutely loved every minute of it because it makes me feel so damn good. My body just reacts to it in such a positive way and it gives me a rush, even at low intensity like today. I really would like to shed a few pounds of blubber in the next few months. Nothing drastic, of course, and I will do it really slowly. I currently weigh in at 235 (I'm 5'10") and I would like to "tone" (haha) down to about 210-215 ish. I think I would look and feel much better. There is absolutely no reason why I cannot gain strength and still reach my goals in just losing 20 lbs very slowly. I would never want to be under 200 lbs tho.

I am the master of healthy gluten free eating, as I have been for almost 9 years now. It is impossible for anyone to eat any healthier than me. The only change I need to make is to have 1 steak at dinner instead of 2 and do a little bit of cardio. I plan to do the cardio on non lifting days, which should minimize any negative effects on my lifting, and to mix it up with steady state and intervals.

I am bound and determined to look and fell better and reach my goals of a 500+ pull, a 315+ bench, and a 450+ squat along the way. This is and always will be my priority.

When I set my mind to something, I get it. My mind is set.

Good Deload Super Jim! I'm actually surprised, even though you said you were going to deload, that you just didn't take time OFF and rest . Seems like most people hate the total days off, I love em !!! Best of luck with the slow weight loss and I know you'll reach your goals for the meets, going to kick ass Super JIM!!!!!!!
