MAB POWERBUILDING CYCLE 1 DAY 1

Today marks a fresh start for me going at full power. I feel great, pain-free, and ready to SFHW. This routine is going to be given 100% effort. I did have some grip issues as it has been only 3 days since my last deadlift session. Because of that, I knew today was going to be a challenge, but I decided to MTFU and get it done.

Weight: 226.2 lbs
Waist: 40 inches
Ya, I gained a bit lately, oh well. This marks a fresh start once again. I am more determined than ever to get to 200. It will be done and I don't care how long it takes.

Deadlifts
135 X3
225 X3
320 X3 Raw PR For Reps + 5 lbs See Vid
320 X3
320 X3 Grip was toasted after this, yet I still had to sets left, so I strapped up for the 405+ sets. I am quite confident that if I hadn't deadlifted just 3 days prior, I would have got my 5 sets RAW
405 X3
415 X3 See Vid

Front Squats
185 X8
205 X8
225 X8 PR +20 lbs See Vid

GHR Sit-Ups
35 X15 PR
35 X15
35 X15

Cardio
10K (6.2 Miles)
51 Mins
765 Cals Burned.

STRONG front squat work. I think I would have bailed at 5 reps. That's a lot bigger than I think you imagine brother Jim. That's darn near a 300 1RM which is huge fro front squats.

All the deadlifts looked exceptional as well.

How did the front squats feel on your lowwr back?

Strong pulls and squatting buddy. Look forward to seeing what you can do fully rested. Still looks to me like your stance is a little narrow though. Bringing your feet wider will make it easier to sit back and use your posterior chain to hit depth on both front and back squats pain free.

Thanks so much Steve Since I do not have back squat right before the fronts, like I did before, I am hoping my front squats take off. My wrists felt great, as did my low back - absolutely no issues whatsoever, which was a big relief.

Thanks Big Al!! Your comment the other day that it is now time to work on my squat meany alot. This routine will help me do just that, as I will be squatting every 4 days with a good variety (back squats/front squats, and box squats)

WRT the deads, I will only be doing them once per cycle (every 12 days) so I should be rested next time.

On the stance, I am not able to look down after stepping back, so I have to work on evening my stance after stepping back, as it was proper before I stepped back, or so I thought, I will work on it for sure.

Fantastic work Jim, you are gonna love this routine mate, I know it.

Deads are, as always awesome, but I am even more impressed with the front squats... 225 x 8 is HUGE and I need to get my arse in gear... i have only ever done 225 x 6

Ill race you to 3pps

Looking great Jim, I expect big things from you on this routine my friend...

Carl.

You have pieces of tape on the floor which I think are about the width you should be looking to get to although it's hard to tell from side on. Looking down is hard on fronts I know but you should be able to work on widening your stance when you're back squatting and then just mirroring it for fronts when you do those. Don't change width all at once though. Widen your stance a little bit at a time and gradually work your way out.
