Lookin solid in here, JimBro! I'm thinking that if you had done a single at 250 instead of a double, you may have had enough in the tank for that 265.

But guess what? You can NAIL that 265 next week

DEADLIFT DAY 07/23/11

Deadlifting was very special today. Not only did I have zero back irritation, I did the lifts with no straps and no gloves. The bar felt really good (I have never deadlifted before without at least gloves) I really felt like a real deadlifter. This, combined with no back pain or irritation at all today, made for aa very emotional session for me.

The first 2 sets were done without straps. I tried the 315, but it wouldn't budge. Grip was completely toasted at this point, so on went the straps. All sets/reps were full ROM.

It's amazing the influence Big Al has on me. I study his vids, not only for form & technique, but for other things like attitude. I am really starting to develop a badass attitude while I am lifting. This is not something I can turn off and on like a switch. It takes time to develop. I think its really improving my performance. I am also updating my playlist.

And the older you get the harder it is to find that switch

I know some of these young guys with buckets of energy like to say things like who needs pre-workouts, they are placebo or whatever, but man, anything that helps me find that switch, I'm in on.

Anyway, sorry to ramble.

Just remember Jim that your persistence and dedication inspire others. The weight we lift comes and goes, and our injuries come and go, but it's the effort that is the true measure of success...and you have plenty hombre.
