Thanks a bunch Hit!! Haha - glad you like the tunage!! Not a huge fam of metal, but do like it to lift with sometimes. I'm actually pretty pleased with the physique so far!

DEADLIFT DAY

Last week, I did light singles with heavy rep work, so this week it was heavy singles with lighter rep work. Although it was grip fail on my 485 PR attempt, I am going to blame my lousy bar. When I grip it for deads, half of my fingers are on the smooth part. Even though my other fingers are on the knurly's, the knurly's on this bar are not very knurly.. Additionally, the limitations of liquid chalk were apparent tonight. It simply is not quite as good as chalk. Lesson learned - all future heavy single days, including my 500 attempt, will be done at the CrewGym. I have access to a pricey awesome deadlift bar and regular chalk. A bonus is they also have a bar lifter so I don't have to waste any energy loading plates. It's good to find all this now, as I had never thought this issue would arise.

With that said, it was exciting to prove to myself I have the strength in me right now for 500+, as the 485 felt relatively easy. I have zero doubt 485 will be no problemo in 2 weeks at the CrewGym. Next week will be heavy reps, which are no problem here at the JimGym with the VG's.

I think I will aalso be ordering soon a proper deadlift bar for the JimGym. A mechanic is no good without the proper tools.

Did some squats after-wards to make myself feel better.

Everybody knows lifting vids add 20 lbs. Lol. Fantastic work like always. You will crush that 5 hun. Especially with the jack and good bar.

You easily had that 485 Jim! I hate when grip is a limiting factor in deadlifting.

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.
