Had a really decent session this morning. Once again, I had to change my plan on the fly. I was planning on 7 reps at 225 for a few sets, but after that 225 X6 set I knew 7 reps wasn't going to happen. Thus, I opted for some progression by adding 5 lbs. A fiver was OK at 230, but I decided I needed some rep work, as this was supposed to be a light-ish session. In the past, i likely would have rolled with adding weight and end up doing a heavy session, even tho my body wasn't wanting to do that. So, I dropped the weight to 205, which was just right for a couple of sets of rep work.

Pendlay's went really well. 10 lb progression on those. The Military Presses caught me by surprise as I was only expecting a triple. Last week or so I could only manage a single at 135 for a couple of sets.

Lastly, and I cannot believe I am about to say this, the pull ups actually felt easy. Never before has any pull up ever felt easy to me, even just a single. Time to do them weighted!! Bring on the powerbelly again haha!!

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Thanks DZ! Smartest move I ever made was to stop going for prescribed numbers and lifts and just take what the old bawd is willing to give on any given day.

No sauce unfortunately Ben! It is tomato based and I cannot have it. It's OK tho, the ribs were just fine without.

Thanks Alan!! Interesting to see how I progress with them weighted now. I think I'll do BW rack chins to finish them off as well.

Thanks Fen!! Indeed, different styles are a good thing. However, form is form on the lifts, especially the core lifts.

Thanks Jay!! Pull ups have become a project to me - inspired by yourself. It was time to do something about it.

Very nice light bench session Jim! Impressed you have learned to fight that urge to turn every session into a heavy one lol!!

Happy for you on those "EASY" pull ups too! There is no such thing in my world

Thanks Rich!! Haha - bad habits are tough for us geezers to kick eh? The pull ups I reckon are like any other lift - gotta do them often to get good at them.
