Great Bench press day. Looking strong!
Hang in there with the AM lifting. You will get used to it. It took me about a week when I made the change. During that first week a felt nauseous at times and light headed at others. Now, looking back I don't know how I ever did it any other way. I feel 110% lifting first thing in the morning. Logistically speaking and physically speaking, I am convinced the pros of working out first thing in the AM heavily out weight the cons.
Are you drinking or eating anything before you lift? I find a big cup of coffee and half a scoop of whey isolate preworkout does the trick for myself.
Also, I feel strongly that working out in the AM is good for weight loss/fat control (for lack of a better term). This is simply broscience on my part, but I feel the AM session not only burns more fat during the workout, but "primes" the body to burn for the rest of the day.
looking good Jim. Keep at it.

Nice work Jim, no misses is doing the confidence the world of good. JB mentioned the wider stance to me a while back and I've been trying to get it right, amazing how such a small change can really help get a few more kgs on the bar

Progress even in the 'wee hours.' I like your no miss policy too. You are looking slim, soon we are going to need a wide angle lens to locate you.

Maybe if you want to optimize the last 0.01% of your training. People that major in the minors never get anywhere.

No worries about not doing back assistance as I want to deadlift this Sunday with the boys and it likely a good thing to rest my back, outside of doing some light squats this Thursday.

Bench went well with the exception of a brain fart on the 285 SS Single. After getting tight, I tried to unrack, but couldn't lift the bar off the hooks. I wasn't in the exact position I needed to be. So, instead of just getting up and resetting like I should have, I just moved a bit and then unracked, all the while I lost my tightness, which in turn turned the lift into a grinder. However, my no miss policy is still in effect and I locked it out.

Happy I progressed today once again. I really like the wider foot stance. I reaally think this was the missing link. I find my leg/lower body drive is getting better each session since adopting the stance.

Strong Benching in the wee hours of the AM there SSJ.

Question, do you eat anything before your W/O?

I tried to W/O a cou[le of times Sat AM before I went to work...it wasnt super early...8:00...but after 3 weeks, I stopped because I felt like I had nothing in the tank

The iron is there during my times of happiness, sadness and anger. The iron is there available through the 4 seasons and inclement weather. The iron is there to either comfort me or motivate me. The Iron manages to show me how strong I am or how humble I need to be. The iron does not yell, but it always demands respect. The iron is not a disciplinarian, but when disrespected, I feel it for a long time. The iron does not love or hate, but we definitely share a strong bond. And no matter how far I stay away or for how long, the iron is there, waiting to be lifted.

Thanks Big J, and I agree 100%. I have done this early AM lifting before - I stopped about a year and a half afo as Mrs Squatter was complaining on how loud I was. I have made some adjustments and got her good ear plugs, so I am good to go. I also feel more refreshed and not tired at all first thing. I just need to adjust to get that extra hour of sleep, as I need 7 but am only getting 6 right now. Indeed, I will stick with it for the long haul here.

I don't like coffee, and I know I cannot eat a thing or I will hurl it while lifting. I am just taking Muscle marinade pre wo and Xtend intra wo. After-wards, I drink my greens with vit c, chlorella, silver biotics. On the drive to work, I drink some more Xtend.

I also agree that the early training kicks starts the metabolism. I should now reach my goal of 200-205 in a couple of months.

Thanks Alan! I agree. I want the lifts to be tough and challenging, but not to failure. So far they are, as I progress my way up to my old numbers and more, but with better form. I have to thank LtL for that stance tip!

Haha - indeed, I am grateful most of the 25 lbs lost so far came off of my powerbelly!

Strong benching! Starting to get jealous of you guys with your slingshots. I get up @ 4 but there's no way I'd train 30 minutes later. 730 is the earliest I'd train.

Thanks buddy! I start work at 7:30!

Slingshots are quite affordable, so hopefully you can get one soon. I got the blue one called "reactive". I like how I can now do overload work at home.

Gotcha. Do they really work? Like they really for real make your raw bench stronger?
