Great session Jim. You put in some serious effort. Keep it up and you'll be bitch slapping PRs again in no time.

Hey man, my heart goes out to you on such an emotional day. I'm going to pray for you tonight. May the peace of the lord fill your heart.

Good work Jim. Keep practising that paused bench. You don't want to jump the gun at the meet.

Watch the big jumps in weight on all three lifts as well. When you're handling up to 100%+ of your maxes, you need to make smaller jumps for two reasons:

1. It gets you used to the heavy weights and gives you a better chance of making the lift.

2. If you jump from a successful 385 to missing 425 and making 415, you only have one good set for that day. Go from 385 to 405 and then 415/420 and you get more work in. Make sense?

Thanks Big J!! It would be a bonus to crank out a PR at the meet!! Thanks so much for the prayers as well. It really was sad not seeing her on Sunday, being the first mothers day since she passed.

Thanks Big Al - for sure I will keep practising the paused benching. I plan on doing 2 paused singles at the end of the 4X5. I have to admit, it can be a hard habit to break since I am so used to not pausing.

Yep, the smaller jumps make sense. You and Steve mentioned it before, as it is necessary to prime the CNS as well. Agreed as well - the more successful work, the better. I have to train my brain to be more patient.

Thanks again Big Al

Thanks Steve!! I am really pleased with the progress in such a short time, which proves to me I had it in me all the time, just needed some direction from all of the amazing members here.

I am really very proud to be a member here Steve. I hope to be able to spend more time here at MAB.

Thanks Mark!! His advice is golden isn't it!! I always listen to it. One would have to be a fool not to.

We are such creatures of habit. I will have to really focus on it so I don't jump the gun like Al said.

Thanks Mike!!

Speaking of prayers, it's looks like I am going to need them for my eyes. The surgeons have discovered the inflammation has worsened, but is still under control. It's sorta like the forest fire is still burning, but it cosumed a few more trees.

I now have to see another surgeon who may or may not qualify me for some other treatment. Not sure what that may be, other than some different meds. The birdshot is resistant to treatment, so they have to try something else.

I asked the surgeon how many cases have been reported so far this year. Answer was 1, and that is me. That is how rare this disease is. There is no money put into research because it is so rare. Lucky me.

I still haven't been able to come to terms with the likely prospect of losing my vision. I think I may just have to cross that bridge when I get to it.

For now tho, I want to travel as much as I can. England and Wisconsin are on my radar screen.

I worry about you man. Stay strong. I know those words must seem like tissue paper, and I can't imagine what you're going through right now, but just keep pushing Jim.

And pulling!!

I have MABPower on my side!! Mrs Squatter will not allow me to grow a beard, so I will have to rely on the MABPower. I really do not know what I would do without you Steve. I am surely a better and stronger man now because of knowing you and everyone else here, and I feel better equipped to handle this than I would have been before joining the forums.

You and Big Al have been such a positive influenece in my life. Thank you so much.
