In regards to the power clean question... I'd suggest starting at 150, do the planned work, and then dropping to 115-125 and doing a ton of singles and doubles. Really hit technique hard. The cleans that I've seen from you are very strong but not necessarily efficient... a lot of the strength is coming from the upper body.

If you can improve the timing and transition from floor - hips and the catch on the delts (elbows way forward) I see no reason you won't be able to power clean close to 200 without strength gains.

Thats just me though... if your content with your own technique I'd see no problem starting at about 155-160.
Thanks so much Pull. Your post helped me decide to take an Oly Lifting course.

Happy as a pig in mud for my money set

Power Cleans need some work of course. I decided to take a Oly Lifting Course here in Calgary. This is an Olympic City after all. I found one and have signed up. Not sure exactly when it will start, as it is cheaper with another student, of which they might have. After the 3 hour course, I have the option to sign up for a monthly fee, with unlimited use of the facility and coaching. I really want to get better at the Oly Lifts, and I just can't do it on my own.

My lifting shoes have been lost by the courier company. Rogue has decided to ship some Nike Romaleos at no additional charge. Should have them in a week or so.

Thanks Big Al!! Time to stop farting around and reach my goals. The Oly coaching sure will help me out - and hopefully after I have good technique I can help someone else.

Good stuff, as always, nobody works harder than you do.

I bet that olympic course is going to be fun!
Post up any tips you learn. I will live vicariously through you until I can afford such a course.
