Correct me if I'm wrong but for floor presses aren't they supposed to start at bottom? Or you mean even to get the bar off the hooks?

I do a version of this so I'm not on the floor. The harder floor makes my back spazzom.

Okay, I work primarily out of my squat rack. The side that my j-hooks are on is where a support brace crosses horizontally approximately 5" off the floor preventing me from doing the floor presses utilizing the hooks. Therefore my floor press are done using the safety bars in the rack. My back is flat on the floor along with my triceps, arms bent at approximately 90 degrees wedged between the floor and the bar, which is app proximately 1.5" from my chest. So I guess that I am doing 2" lockouts (Pin Presses) from the floor. Absolutely zero cheating, no stored energy in the tris....hence pressing from zero. Damn Im confused...lol
