Trained with a guy I've known on the forums for a few years but had never met. Good change of pace and felt good coaching him to equal or lifetime PBs on all 3 lifts

Bench
Warmed up with reps and then did:
125kgs x 1
135kgs x 1
140kgs x 1
145kgs x 1 with a bro tap as George got a bit handsy at transition
Retook 145kgs and nailed it. Lifetime raw PB is 150kgs with a wider grip and 10kgs more BW so very happy with this.

Squats
Deep with high bar and oly shoes or BBOD style
Beltless, just knee sleeves on.
Warmed up with a few reps then:
140kgs x 1
160kgs x 1
170kgs x 1
175kgs x 1
180kgs x 1 Beltless PB and probably the deepest I've ever taken that weight

Conventional Pulls
Did some reps to help show George form:
Worked up to an easy 190 and a slightly difficult 210kgs. Both beltless.

Conventional form was so much smoother and natural than sumo has been. Need to do some serious thinking about what stance to pull with moving forward....

Plan for this week is to do three sessions in my gear. My squat suit is going to the seamstress tomorrow night to have the straps shortened so should be ready for next weekend. Will shirt up for benching on Thursday and may try to pull conventional in my suit on Tuesday. As I said, need to have a serious think...

Overall: Great session.
Great workout Al! Oh oh, serious thinkin going on . Keep workin hard big man!

Thanks Ace. Nothing too serious, I think I need to do both. Just need to work the routine to allow for that.

Cube trial session - Deads

Foam rolling and band stretches

4" Block Pulls
70kgs for 2 sets of 5
110kgs x 3
150kgs x 1
Add belt
180kgs x 1 Wore belt higher, was almost sick
200kgs x 1 Belt back over belly button, more comfortable
210kgs x 1
220kgs x 1 Bit slow at the top
230kgs x 1 Pete had me sit back more, smooth and easy

Snatch grip deadlifts
Still off blocks
110kgs for 3 sets of 8 These are ridiculously hard.

DB Rows
52kgs for 3 sets of 10

DB Shrugs
52kgs for 2 sets of 20 Slow and controlled

Pulldown Abs
50reps @ 30kgs on cable machine, done in 2 sets

Wow! That was a lot of work. Deadlifts went ok. Didn't want to max out as was feeling a bit beaten up after Sunday so worked out what I would be pulling at the end of a cycle (95%) and just worked up to that. Pete suggested I sink my hips more and that helped a lot because it got my shoulders behind the bar and helped me pull smoothly to lockout. This will help as I move into the suit as well.

Assistance was a LOT of work but managed to finish quickly. Just about managed to complete the given sets and reps so am pleased with my weight picking. Thankfully Pete suggested to not use 150kgs for my first attempt at the snatch pulls. This was a GREAT call; that is a VERY difficult exercise

Overall I was pleased with the session and look forward to starting the Cube proper next week. Back in on Thursday for Cube bench in my shirt. Can't wait!

They're hard work at the time but on the plus side they allow me to make snatch jokes

The only way I can handle snatch grip pulls is to use Versagripps. DB Rows strong. Good to hear form is progressing with the help of Hazzy!
