I would use probably a 5 foot length of feeder chain, after checking, my gym usese 1/4" chain for the feeder. You may want to buy some hooks/carribeaners for the feeder to adjust the length of ring you make for squatting/pulling too.

If you end up using them for squats, I usually let 3-4 links touch the ground at the starting point. Hope this helps ya!

That is some hardcore benching right there Big Al - nice work Gotta love the anger management as well!!

The chains that the crew uses at Strive have a "feeder" chain as well, meaning that the big clump of chains hangs from a single chain, that is then attached to the bar using an "O' ring. I noticed some chains are always on the ground. I have not used them on bench yet as we are usually doing board presses, but I really loved the feel of them on safety bar squats that we did a few weeks ago. Again, the noise was sweet as well, and I think said noise actually made me feel stronger.

Love the fact as well that you were able to squeeze in the assistance at lunch.

Add bands, double choked around dumbells

Add belt

Add loose wraps

Add tighter wraps

Speed pulls against 40kgs chains
100kgs for warm-up
140kgs for 12 singles
Remove chains
140kgs x 3

Green band abs
2 sets of 50 reps

Great session. Worked with a higher bar to help keep me upright. Worked on arching hard and pulling with my posterior chain off the box rather than moving forwards onto the quads. There was a bit of a plop onto the box in the heavier sets and I need more practice walking out in tight wraps but overall I was pleased. Need to use the "arch" and "hips" cues to maintain my shape and lockout with my glutes and not just my quads but I'm moving in the right direction and looking good to get back into gear.

Pulls were frustrating. Pete had me look up more at the start and that made a massive difference. Was really pleased with that until I saw the footage and I had been letting my hips shoot up Sat down more and tensed my hams and that seemed to help. Last rep I filmed (10 or 11) looked better.

Finished with abs and walked home. Will try to get video up now but if it takes a while, it'll be up in the morning. Overall not a bad bit of weight shifted for a dynamic day.

Nice work with the chains, looks fun. Definitely some decent weight shifted with the squats.

Squat looked pretty easy. Deadlifts don't look bad at all. Look a bit mechanical right now, if that makes sense. Form looks pretty good but not quite natural and fluid like squats. getting there though.
