Wow! What a session. The bands were a royal PITA to get set up. They also meant we had to bench in the power rack (space issues with squat rack and smith towel rack either side) and we had to use one of the free standing benches. We took the lowest (yes I am short) but it was slippy as hell and had feet right were I normally tuck mine for a good arch. Still I got it done. I thought the bands would take more weight off but when we measured them, it only took the bar weight to stretch them down to the bench. Maybe next time I'll go for the blues instead but setting up in reverse is a different feeling from regular band benching. It's a more natural progression towards lockout and feels more real. I like it.

130kg's felt ridiculously light. 140kg's was smooth but hard. I was gonna go 145 and then maybe 150 but John called me a pussy and told me to go 150 so I did. First time I did it, the bar all but stopped halfway up, John got hands on the bar and that corrected the bar path enough for me to finish. He said he didn't really touch so I went to check the video: Dave forgot to record it in all of the excitement Only one thing to do at this point: take the weight again. Good news is the second rep' was clean and although a bit slow, it went straight up untouched.

Left the bands on for the back off sets and hit 100 for 2 10's which BURNT! Was surprised to get a PB on skull crushers but I'll take it and then smashed through a quick bit of rowing before we had to finish. All of the setting up of the bands and the longer rest times that high weights require meant we were running at 1.25 hours at that point and John needed to get off. Only missed a set of rows and some curls and as we're deadlifting tomorrow I'm sure my back will be hit enough. May even throw some curls in at the end if I have anything left after the back destruction.

Now I'm gonna go eat a cow, do some more house stuff before my brother arrives tonight. Good times Heres the video with my favourite PB making track of all time:
