DYNAMIC EFFORT LOWER

Speed Squats
Stretch and deep heat to lower back
Bar x lots
Add red and blue bands and the problems begin
The gym was really busy so rather than fight my way through the curlers to get the big dumbells to tie the bands to, I just lifted up the rack and tied them on. This has worked in the past and seemed fine until I went to unrack the bar, stood up with it and there was so much tension that the bands pulled the rack forward and sent it crashing into the wall/mirror. Mirror was already broken so only a little glass but had to clean that up, regroup, get the dumbells, reattach the bands and start again. Did I mention I was training alone and this is a major PITA? Well I was
Bar + red and blues x lots
60kg's x 2
80kg's for 3 sets of 2 - shoulders feel tight as hell and wrists start to hurt from tension
90kg's for 3 sets of 2 - shoulder getting tighter, move hands back out wide from narrower position I was using to get more upper back tightness
100kg's for 3 sets of 2 - because even though I was in pain, the pain felt like it was from lack of flexibility so I pushed on through
Good speed overall. No real reduction as the weights increased which is good. No slowing down as the band tension came on halfway up either

GHR's ss Reverse Hypers
BW x 10 ss Dbl Red bands x 10
BW x 10 (just!) ss Dbl bands x 15

Barbell rollouts x forearm fail. Just too sore after squats to do these.

Standing ab' crunches
Dbl blues x 25
Same x 30

So even though the start of the session was marred by disaster, I pushed on through and got it done. Iced my forearms/shoulders and had a contrast shower to hopefully allow me to bench heavy tonight. Not sure how that will go but I feel good enough to try. Plenty of deep heat and ibuprofen should see me through.

After all of the stupidity, I ran out of time for high pulls but I'll get them done next time. The whole rack disaster really screwed with my focus and it took me a while to recover. Shoulder tightness didn't help but that's what happens when you have around 80kg's of band tension on each end of the bar Should have kept my hands wide from the start but you live and you learn. Hoping for a better session tonight with max effort bench.

Well done for getting through it with whats still a stella session. i have to be honest i think i would have just quite the session to be honest, so well done you for getting through it.

Thanks mate. It was really hard but I got it done and feel better for not having quit. Apart from my sore shoulders and arms

Bodyweight is also climbing back up steadily: 99.2kg's this morning up 1.7kg's in 2 weeks
