MAX EFFORT LOWER

Rack Pulls from hole 2 in the rack which is just below knee
All sets done with straps and belt

200kg's x 3 default PB as haven't done this in a LONG time

And that's all. That took me an hour as I was resting for quite a long time inbetween squat sets and I wanted to get home. I figure PB weight squats will work my ab's enough to make up for it

Last night's session was brutal. I was very tired as I had only managed 3 hours sleep the night before and had survived on caffeine all day. All of the squat sets up to the final one felt off. The 155kg's double was slow and awkward and I was doubting if I could go much heavier at this point. 170 and 180kg's sets were a bit better as I attacked them more but on both sets I fell forward a little on the first rep' and had to use a bit more lower back to get up. The 190kg's set was a real max effort. I won't lie to you, it's damned scary unracking that much weight but I literally dove into the hole and powered back up. Rep 1 was clean and the best one of the day. Rep 2 was clean but a bit harder. I paused for a while and considered whether I could do a third and I decided that I could. Rep 3 was a grinder and at about halfway up I noticed my face in the mirror and it looked like my eyes were going to burst out of my bright red balding skull. Awesome. Simon, my strongman mate who spotted me, said he couldn't believe how fast and how deep I squat. This, alongside the fact that I'd got a PB and lived to tell the tale, made me very happy.

Finished up with some rack pulls. Only 3 sets but the second two were hard work and again, I had to really focus on my bar speed and acceleration to get me through to lockout. Pulled these with straps to try to keep my back neutral and it seemed to work.

Got home, fed my daughter and then myself and fell straight to sleep. Sleep was broken as always but was far better than the night before so I feel human today. VERY SORE but human. Got a work reward day today; going to the horse racing with the Directors so going to take it easy, sip some champagne and get my networking hat on. If I'm not too hungover, I should make it in for dynamic effort upper tomorrow.

As a postscript I would like to say a massive thanks to Ken (Aurik). The post you made about not winning a PL meet by being a pu$$y was the determining factor in me loading the bar to 190kg's and attempting that set. Thank you.
