MAX EFFORT LOWER

Alternating sets of empty bar squats and 60kg's deadlifts. 3 x 10 on each to get the blood flowing.

Conventional Deadlifts. Double overhand grip.
100kg's x 5
100kg's x 3
130kg's x 2
160kg's x 1 matched PB from last year as warm-up, looking good
170kg's x 1 with belt and mixed grip PB and bar moving quickly
180kg's x 1 4pps PB this was the aim for today. Video didn't happen though so may as well put more weight on
190kg's x 1 all time conventional PB


Shrugs
220kg's x 10
260kg's x 5 PB
260kg's x 6 PB

1.25 Squats
90kg's for 2 sets of 10

First time doing heavy conventionals for about a year. Form still needs a bit of work: I think my hips need to come lower but I find them so uncomfortable when I'm at the bottom. Just like I'm all crowded. I've read a fair bit about the benefits of training both stances though so I'll continue to work on it.

I haven't done shrugs in a while so I made up for it by putting on a lot of weight. 6pps felt like it was going to pull my arms off. AWESOME. Didn't want to do the 1.25 squats so I knew I had to. Extra 10kg's and got it done.

Great session today. Feeling strong at the moment.

Congrats on that big deadlift PR. Hips were a tad high. Wish you lived near so I could see you deadlift in person.

Thanks Steve. I agree on the hips and DEFINITELY on being closer. Would love to lift with you one day. YOU inspired me to do 6pps on shrugs today. Having seen your 700 in the week, I knew I had NTFU today and get it done.

Awesome workout again buddy

I will study the deadlift video and compare my form with it, should hopefully give me some good pointers, hopefully i cant get my form a little closer to where it need to be, before we train

You seem to be getting stronger quickly at the minute, like it had slowed a bit but now the progression is shooting forward again.... must be all the food.

Who'd have thought it food = strength

I wouldn't base your deadlift form on mine. It's still a work in progress. Use Steve's or this guy:


I think I'm getting used the the way that the Westside is set-up AND I've planned my exercise selection for this cycle which is helping.

The food also helps I'm sure
