Dynamic squats first mate. Second week of the box squat wave I'm doing against blue bands. Gonna be brutal!

Thanks buddy. Pull Ups are one of those lifts where you just need to do lots of them and you'll get better.

The little bit of rest combined with more and stronger training partners throughout the week sounds like a great idea. Nice speed session, including the PR! Pull ups, as usual with you, are strong - gives me hope haha!

DYNAMIC EFFORT SQUAT/DL

Leg swings and a bit of stretching
All sets done onto parallel box/bench
Bar x lots
Add blue bands (approx 90kg's at the top although my guess is closer to 60kg's)
Bar x lots
70kg's x 2
110kg's for 4 sets of 2
125kg's for 4 sets of 2

GHR's
3 sets of BW x 10 Got so close to a full rep' unassisted on the first set and form overall was better

Reverse Hypers against blue band
BW x 15 band under arms
BW x 12 band around shoulders pulling tighter
BW x 15 band around shoulders

Ab's Superset
Blue band standing crunches ss Weighted planks
20 ss 10kg's plate for 45seconds
20 ss 10kg's for 45
20 ss 10kg's for 70

Took a while to get going tonight, again I think I need a deload and some sleep. The heavier sets on squats were actually a bit snappier than the 110's because I got angry and got it done. GHR's are improving in form and although I didn't get a full one, I got about as close as I could with my nose a couple of inches above the bench. Banded hypers were good and with the band around the shoulders, the tension was strong. Had to beat Carl on the weighted planks but made the mistake of punishing John when he went first. On his last set I pushed down on the weight to add tension for the last 10 seconds. So to get even he let me have an extra 10 seconds

Tonight turned out to be a good session although it has reinforced my decision to deload. Sore wrists from the wrapless PB last night. Sore forearms and shoulders when squatting. Generally a bit beaten up. Looking forward to fun strongman deload on Saturday. Gonna do a bit of bodyweight stuff and then a couple of quick events: Dumbell clean and press for rep's with a time limit and farmers walks as a race.

That'll be on Saturday but for now though I plan to rest and sleep.

I also have been lacking sleep - it stays light here until 10:30PM, which makes it hard to go to bed at 8:30. I also have to put up with all the extra noise outside. I have only been getting about 5 hour sleep per night.

Do you think your lack of sleep could be about getting a bit nervous about the upcoming birth of Mini Al?

I think sitting 100kg's on his back would probably kill him Jim

My lack of sleep is due to Mrs LtL being hugely pregnant and uncomfortable combined with her now also having a cold. I have therefore moved to the spare room but am still suffering from Sunday and Monday night where I tried to sleep over it. I am also, however, very nervous.

Seriously though buddy a solid session, but by the sounds of it you are ready for a deload, you have been pushing hard these last few weeks and sounds like the body is telling you to back off a bit.
