Reeves Classic, Week 7 - Day 3

Deadlifts
85kg x 5
105kg x 5
137.5kg x 4 upped weight, dropped a rep Still a PB for reps at this weight though

This is good!! This is exactly what you should be doing. Any where between 3-5 reps on the last set is perfect.

Dips
BW x 21
BW x 11
BW x 9
BW x 9

Ok, DIPS.

The goal is to get that first set to one set of 50.

Just do 3 sets repping out each one. Don't stop at 50.

Only do 3 sets though.

Total workout time 1 hour 5 mins, Grade B+ today

Carl.

You are too hard on yourself. You're dead set is perfect.

Everything is looking good.

Thanks GL. I will keep the weight the same on deads now for a couple of weeks to make sure the last set is easier then up the last set to 140 (which anything over 2 reps will be a PB )..

Its feeling good to be back amongst the PB territory

Ok couple of questions if thats OK...

Should i keep the pressing and bench weights as they were today and push progression, or drop back to the lighter first set as i had adjusted to and start progression again on them from next week ?

With the dips. i am pretty much repping out on every set now as the breaks are fairly short, so if i did 3 sets i would only get 40ish reps. So should i up the breaks back to a minute and then rep out for 3 sets, or just do the 50 reps in as few amount of sets as possible as i am doing

thanks again mate

Carl.

YES!

Ok couple of questions if thats OK...

Of course, it's always ok.

I'll get to this, after I go back and look through you're log a little bit.
However, at this point you pretty much should be utilizing a progression scheme.

With the dips. i am pretty much repping out on every set now as the breaks are fairly short, so if i did 3 sets i would only get 40ish reps.

Thats perfect. Do that.

So should i up the breaks back to a minute.

Keep them short, around 30 seconds. We want to keep the intensity up. You will be repping out 50 in one set before you know it.

thanks again mate

Carl.

thanks GL. I think i shall go back to the weights that we came up with for the progression from the beginning of the week and run from there (unless you think otherwise)... I dont want to be pre-exhusting myself on my first set to be honest... Today was just one of those days when i couldnt get the DB's i wanted, its not normally that bad

Nice workout! And the kg make it so easy to read without the conversions in my head.
And I like the phrase about the national idiot curling day. Those guys are in every gym. Like the ones that do about ten exercises for the chest but don't even hit their legs once. Saw one of those just today.
