Hey MikeC. Thanks for checking in. Day 3 and I want to poke my eyes out. He's just reading from the manual. Still.

Wednesday: Snow-Forced Cardio

Today would have been leg deload, but we go snow and I had to shovel (and then still be at work at the normal time--YAY :eyeroll: ). Walkway, 3 parking spaces, and steps. Also cleaned off 3 cars.

Total time: 55 minutes.
Workout Grade: A-

I was drenched in sweat and my back is not feeling horrible. Win!

So, Thurs and Friday will either be: Shoulder and then Arms or a Leg and then Shoulder/Arm deload.

Will see what I feel in the am.

I had the same situation today, I was going to do a nice easy workout today, but I also had to shovel for about an hour.

Awesome pump in my lower back lol, also great cardio.

Hey Jwood. I have an ergonomic shovel and try to do more of a squat like motion when I lift and throw the snow. If I use to much lower back, I can't stand straight for a day.

Snow-forced-cardio is a lower back killer for me. Living in the country the plows ram all the snow into our driveways and we are left with 2 foot banks of packed snow that can only be removed with brute force.

I think I just gave myself the kiss of death...I haven't had to shovel in a month...

I don't have a driveway, but the plows do the same around here. When it snows a lot, the neighbors get out and we dig out behind our cars about 6 feet. This forces the plows to push the snow to the other side of the street. It took us 2 winters to figure that out.

We live on a state highway. Usually once we finishing digging out the end of our driveway the plow comes back again and plows us in.

Leg Deload

Hack Sled 50x8, 90x6, 90x6
Leg Press 180x10, 180x10, 180x10
Leg Extension 70x12, 70x12, 70x12
Unilateral Leg Curl (plate loaded) 50x8, 50x8, 50x8
Seated Calf Raise (plate loaded) 90x15, 90x15, 90x15
Cybex Calf Raise straight legged and plate loaded) 90x20, 90x20, 90x20
Reverse Curls (for forearm pain) 30x15, 30x15
Cuban Rotations (with 8# DB) against wall x15, x15 (each arm)

Workout Time:
45 minutes
Workout Grade: B

So, apparently, I had too much volume in my deload approach on push and pull day, so I changed that up here and went with both less weight and fewer sets. In and out.

Tomorrow, will do a shoulder/arm deload and call it a week.
