Default Carl1174... Back to the Avatar !!!

My Avatar is from Aug 2008 !!!

I had trained before that for about 18 - 24 months, the first 12 months or so were all cardio and i lost about 40lbs ish. i went from over 200lbs (at 5'6") to about 160, then I went up to about 167-168 i think in that photo and about 14% bf

I am now at about 185lbs and a hell of a lot stronger - thanks to linear progression and lately 5/3/1, but my bf has increased a lot over the last few months...

The last 2 years have have trained on and off (the last 10 months more on than off) I have had a few injuries along the way and some enforced absenses from the gym.

I now want to get back to looking like the Avatar definition wise, but stay about where i am weight wise (this should give me a bigger look than in the pic), however i have lost a lot of fitness, back in the pic i was running 10k's at 7.5 minute mile and half marathons at roughly 8 minute mile pace... This morning i got back 'in the saddle' cardio wise and did 2.8 miles in about 30-35 mins

I am gonna take a month and work on conditioning, so a strength day, a HiiT day, a hypertrophy day and an endurance day. i will also try to fit in some LiT either mornings or PWO as well if I can.

I dont take sups (except a multi vit and a whey blend PWO) and my diet is going to be clean.

Welcome along

Carl.

Thanks TB, nice to have you along. Yeh i will post up my workouts in here (and possibly my diet too). i am in the process of ordiering some calipers and i will take some progress pics too and post them up. Hopefully there wont be much muscle loss, i am hoping to lose a few pounds, but i really want to keep as much strength and size as possible so it will be a slow process. i am at the minute more concerned with the fitness, so hopefully doing the HiiT and some weight circuits once per week will help with that.

Im still gonna be doing the big lifts at least once a week and monitoring progression there too to keep the strength and a full body hypertrophy routine once per week too to hopefully keep the size.

I dont really count calories, but I kind of count portions and know pretty much what i should be eating to add weight or to lose it, so ill be aiming just under maintenance, but keep protein highish to stay in a positive nitrogen balance and finger crossed do a bit of a re-comp, but we'll see

I did this before and it might come back to haunt you... I would count for about a week or 2 so you do have a good grasp on things to make sure(I was a little off after thinking I did).

Anyways, if you want to look into it. Marc from Scivation, on his site has where you put your information into a place and POW! Custom diet for you. Im still looking into it and thinking about trying it..

I have looked at that, but the protein/carb split seems a bit harsh for me to be honest, i loves me carbs I think i may track calories like you ay for a couple of weejks or so though just to get a handle on what I should be doing...
